I'm getting 7.55sec but with the stock BCLK, yours is @10000. Should be about right then.

Wonder why I can't get above 3.7GHz on all cores, even if it's set to 4x40 or 4x45 and all the power settings are on max... Weird.

I really hope that's not the case Though it is still a great product for a great price. Realistically, you won't be going 24/7 + gaming at 30C room and no coolerpad @4GHz accross the board.

Dunno. I'll still try to unlock more power from the ES, just for fun, and then just keep it. Level 1 OC is more than I need.

Am looking at purchasing m18 started with desktop then decided i want something i can take to work / hols ect.. hence stumbled accross this place

Basically I got the M18x in an exchange and was days before the 580m got released... so for me I got screwed... don't know why anyone else has or hasn't. One thing to note is the 6990M is almost as powerful and a lot less expensive... so a lot of people ordered them instead. Nows a good time to get the M18x... the bios has been unlocked.

Hi mate

For me it was exactly what mw86 said, the 6990 is neck and neck with the 580 and $700 cheaper. My desktop has dual 580s because they're the single chip king, but looking at the performance of the mobile GPUs I couldn't (and still can't) justify the 580s.

Just did a benchmark run with a clean install on the new M18x. Using 11.10 drivers (no brightness control, wtf?) and default settings except I have the CPU tdp changed via bios + used AMD overdrive to push the GPUs to 740/1000:

I've had no brightness control on any of the drivers I've used, don't really care as I'm generally on iGPU unless gaming, where it doesn't matter.

HI Brian, I installed the 11.10 driver as well, but don't have these options you have in Catalyst Control Center. Any idea why?
