can i install a 2280 Nvme SSD with a adapter that allows nvme speed 2400 read / 1950 write? is this possible? Amazon has nvme-sata adapter, but i dont know if this will work ?

just finished my cpu/gpu repaste my old i7-2670qm reached 92+ temp in prime 95 after few seconds with original coolingpads the i7-2960xm with liquid metal is now at 79 max in prime95. very nice the 2960xm is not supported for OC in win10. do you use XTU 2.1 for overclocking or which tool?

my Windows 11 is an "unofficial" version, all the install restrictions have already been removed. I modded newest Nvidia driver for my 780m, no problem works for Win11. I also ordered the 2960xm and will use LiquidMetal for the CPU. do you think i still need other fans ?

anyone in 2022 alive here?? i installed Win11 on my M17xR3 (only cardreader and 120hz 3D display driver not working yet). next upgrade is cpu with liquid metal cooling and my softtouch surface is getting sticky... my specs: Alienware M17x R3, GTX 780M OC bios, i7-2670QM, 16 GB Ram, wlan AC7265, 3D display, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, Windows 11 Alienware Area-51 m15x, SSD + 2nd HDD in caddy, Windows 7 (nvidia GPU died)

there is HDD0 with SATA3 and HDD1 with SATA2 speed, maybe you have the wrong slot ?

you can run 3DMark and check temperatures with tools. Do you hear the fans running at higher speed when you are gaming ?

i had also some charging trouble with my alienware m17x. first time it only turn off and i can plug in the charger again and it was charging. 4 week later same happend but i had to turn off overnight, next day no problem. 4 weeks later notebook smell little burned, and next day it turned off forever. so i send it for repair and they replaced mainboard, damaged mainboards are very expensive ! if you have guarantee send it to repair.

anyone playing Ingress ? The game is virtual reality within the reallife world. i play DayZ Standalone and also Arma II DayZ Epoch. Both are very different gameplay, but i still love the old Arma II Epoch because you can build a nice base.

better idea to put the gaming GPU in a external case, like the Graphics Amplifier in Alienware 13.

i am also Alienware x17r3 owner, i like the design, good cooling solutions and easy maintain. you can save much money if you buy a used one, and upgrade everything yourself. will upgrade to 780m this weekend, need 5 postings to download vbios

you should check the fans. i lost a 260m in my alienware because dust blocked the airflow.
