Yeah, I'm trying to spread the word... also in some other forums. Growing a community takes time, I guess it's easier to get fresh M18x/M17x r3 owners than convinving "old" M15x owners to come to a new place. I really like this forum, great people, cool atmosphere and a lot of knowledge even though it's still a pretty small community, that's awesome.2 points

So I was bored a few days and wanted to find an MMO I could play in my spare time. The problem was my selection was limited because games like WoW are a major snore fest for me because the pvp is all button based and there's no aiming/dodging involved at all. Finally I stumbled across Global Agenda and I couldn't be more pleased! The action is fast, the gameplay is reminiscent of Tribes and the controls are sharp. The character development goes fast, the missions are pretty fun and then there are arena pvp battles you can join (see vid below). There's also factions in the game but I haven't gotten far enough yet to see how they work since I'm still a level 15. If you guys are fps fans that want to play something new, give this game a shot, its free and pretty fun: Hi-Rez Studios :: Global Agenda: Home Here's a video I made earlier today with my character during a PvP mission: 1 point

Hey guys, I finally got some time on my hand. Post what games you want me to test here. I will do it on Medium > High > Max (Ultra) settings and as well as Max on my 22" 1080p Dell. I will run these tests at 770 / 1050 OC'd - CPU @ 103Mhz1 point

If it is indeed the vbios is part of the system bios, we can probably have some luck over at the bios-mods.com forums... Look what they were able to do for the folks who had the M17x R2 Alienware M17x-R2 A10 BIOS Unlocked OC Options @svl7 I see you've been there already lol1 point

Above is some game-play from the one and only Brian K! Here you see him hack and slash and disappear on his enemies as he finds his blade buried in their chest!1 point

Sure, thats exactly what I planned to do tonight anyway. I'm getting an exchange rather than returning it so I'll be holding on to this unit for at least another 10 days until my exchange arrives (with hopefully no issues).1 point

Yep it's very nerve wracking and be sure you check all that bezels tabs when you finish because one of mine at the bottom broke off after opening it 3-4 times. I'm going to create a video guide of how to tear down an M18x soon, probably tonight if time permits and I'll toss it in the review. Decided to keep my M18x order and have them send me a replacement. Need my system for school and can't wait on a refund + reorder. Here's hoping my next one doesn't have any GPU anomalies!1 point

I got pissed cause they kept deleting random posts or legit threads, so I said "Oh, this must be a Chinese forum..." and blammo! ban hammer! I just rejoined with a new account... wasnt an IP ban. They acted like it was going to be permanent. Stupid, its not even really a forum by definition. Its a say what we want you to say...1 point

Thanks! Brian already did a test and it seems to work. However still needs more testing if all fans are reported correctly. If it works properly, it might help to test the issue with GPU2 temperatures (GPU and GPU2 fan speeds).. I have posted a new build (1257) in the HWiNFO32 section.1 point

I am getting mine starting tomorrow, if you haven't found anyone by that time just hit me, I be more than glad to assist.1 point

Because it is a dual card system, it needs a restart to shut both GPU's off. I don't think HM67 was designed to run with IGP + dual graphics so Dell sorta hacked their way around this by requiring a restart which shuts off both GPUs. If you check the bios, it detects discrete graphics card as being absent when on IGP and vice versa so it's a deep system level change.1 point

Thanks mw86, been here a while now and prefer it to NBR. These guys seem to know what an enthusiast wants/looks for in tech. I'm on 11.5a RC3 at the moment but I think I'm going to drop to the standard 11.5 to see where I fit in with my clocks.1 point

Yes they are but most of the players stayed with 2.8.5 because of the changes made in 3.0 didn't hold true to the game and few good players moved up. Most likely there won't be many people playing by the time I get my machine anyway. Last time I played there wasn't many servers but the few I did find had a dedicated group. I know I will have to find some newer fps games. I also played unreal tournament but think that game has gone off the grid too. Not having a game machine left me in the old days lol1 point

Ah nope, I'm overcrowded with work these days. Basically I only have time in the evening when I get home from the lab. I like the size and feel of the Mamba, definitely. I don't like small mice. Razer hasn't updated their firmware in quite a while (and there doesn't seem to be any indication that they will). In the worst case, I'll just buy another mouse. I just don't know which one - I was "window-shopping" Roccat mice. I'd go for Logitech G700 but I heard it has an annoying bug where the mouse doesn't move if you move it very little. If I do get a new replacement Mamba, I think I might just sell it. I currently use G7 at home - and while the surface doesn't feel as good as Mamba I definitely like it. Especially because I can actually use it on wireless _all_ the time.1 point

Lets put things in proportion here guys, even if one of the GPUs heats more than the other does not necessarily mean trouble. If both are loaded to 100% performance doesn't suffer. Sure i wouldn't be happy if that'd happen to me, but that's because i have my OCD about those things. Still, the M18x is a hell of a powerful laptop.1 point

Could you test out Americas Army 2.8.5 I played this game hard core for years and look forward to playing it again on a machine that can game. I just wonder what to expect from it before I get my m14x. link to download the 2.8.5 client instead of the 3.x client AMERICA'S ARMY: DOWNLOADS I would only play at medium or high settings since FPS would be my main concern over a pretty picture.1 point
