very nice bro. did you get the memory thing figured out?

Thanks. Replacing it (the memory) with something that works (I hope) correctly. I ordered a 2*16GB Vengeance 3000 kit. The G.SKILL seems to be defective. I guess we will find out when the Corsair memory arrives.

Keep playing with my obsolete 970Ms.

Core: 1404 MHz;  Mem: 6500 MHz

Fire Strike GPU score over 20K: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/10941230

3DMark 11 GPU score about 27K: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11785344

Beaten the Razer BGA + Titan XP eGPU, got my 970Ms throne back:

Painted my heatsinks all in black color, it looks better now. Looks like Lego, lol.

Nice job. Does the bottom cover still fit with all of the added heat sinks?

Thanks. I managed to close the bottom cover and tighten the screws on four corners.

For the screws in the center and middle rear locations, I had to change to longer screws to reach it.

Bottom doesn't look even/flat as expected, but the sides and the back look fine.

Since now I barely move my laptop, so I guess this is acceptable to me.

Finally got the Kingston HyperX Impact 2400 4GB modules stable at 3000MHz using manual timings with @Prema BIOS and then programmed that to XMP profile with Thaiphoon Burner. After I got it to boot at 3000, I started moving the timings values one notch at a time, reboot and test. Once that took me as far as it could with the least amount of errors I started bumping the voltage. It passed with 1.30V, but I went ahead and pushed it 1.35V so it could have a little bit of wiggle room. I've done about 8 rounds of TM5 without errors at 4.7GHz. This is CL18. I think I have burned enough calories on this that I am probably not going to spend any more effort trying to figure out if CL16 will work. Thanks to Brothers @Prema and @johnksss for the ideas and suggestions as I figured this out.

Also, big thanks to Brother @Vitaliy Jungle for making Thaiphoon Burner. I've purchased it 4 or 5 times now (I lost track how many) and I never regret it. Very useful tool when you need it.

Here are the manual memory overclocking values for the BIOS for anyone that wants to try to use them.

Here's something to ponder... The moral to the story is, "Pay attention to details before drawing any conclusions."

@Papusan  - The million dollar question for our friend Jarnis at Futuremark is, "Do you think we should we trust Fire Strike results?" Or, maybe we should all just have fun watching the pretty benchmark run with BGA turdbooks? After all, everyone gets a trophy for participation, right?

Hi my new wingling is here! This 120 hz display is great!

Here is my score

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/16950825

I hope Prema BIOS and vBIOS will unlock the full potential of this rocket-pocket...

Anyone knows any way to rid of current thortling without Prema BIOS? I have put high Iccmax 175a, turbo boost windows is set on 1sec and turbo boost power set to 155 wats...

Try using throttlestop alone to fiddle and setting current limit to 256A (I've seen some notebooks have 255A as highest; this may work too). Your CPU is throttling pretty hard though... it says 4GHz but that score should be closer to 3.4
