Psyrecx
Has anyone else had issues with your SSD running a little hot in this notebook? My Mushkin Atlas Deluxe seems to set off every temperature warning when just sitting idle. Also, I was wondering if there was anything that could be done to cool this thing off a tad. RichardIsBored
I installed a px-256m5m msata, and it hasn't been running hot. Maybe try cleaning out the contacts of the drive and reinstalling? And are you running the latest firmware?
dutchgenius
I am running a Lenovo Y400 with a Crucial 256gb mSata SSD and have had no heat issues yet. what program are you using to monitor temps?
netossc
CrystalDiskInfo use the program to see the temperature of the disc, I'm using a 256gb ssd to 2.5 "temperature is normal, I saw big difference in battery life, greatly increased. rogueosb
I also have no issues with my mSATA SSD temperatures. Plextor M5M 256GB sits at 25-35ºC at all times.
William Christian
How much of an increase is greatly increased? I have been trying to decide whether or not to just dump the money on a new SSD but with the 16GB SSD Caching im not sure that it will make much of a difference in speed, but more battery life would be nice. wuzongh
Seems I don't have this problem with my msata. The cooler system shall be better than the former ones. Maybe you should re-check your driver.

mariusart78
Intel 525 120gb drive when in use gets to 52 degrees C, however i don't think it's all from the drive. It's sitting in a small enclosure with other parts that generate heat after all. Temperature monitor used is HWmonitor.

mariusart78
Yes that's right, and a notebook cooler will help. However unless your temps are extreme, i'd say 70s, you're gonna be fine. I only use notebook cooler when i game on this laptop, for regular use no.

WyRmiE
Cooler will help mainly from outside of the notebook inside temperature will go down about 5 degrees, but it can be difference between performance degradation and not.Best way is to take it apart and do it with compressed air. I didn't experienced high temperature on SSD, the GPU is bigger problem.y510p 755m SLI m2 NGFF SSD
