Yes that's right, and a notebook cooler will help. However unless your temps are extreme, i'd say 70s, you're gonna be fine. I only use notebook cooler when i game on this laptop, for regular use no.

Help me choose a business grade laptop
mariusart78 replied to Michael's question in What Notebook Best Fits My Needs?
I use an HP Elitebook older model 8440p and it's amazing how well it holds up. I got it at work used by someone else previously (who managed to make some dents in the metal lid) and i have been using it for a year without any issues whatsoever. I love the keyboard on these things and by the look of the chassis it can take a lot of punishment. I will definitely get an Elitebook for myself when the actual laptop becomes obsolete. -
Last movie watched that i recommend is Thor 2, in my opinion much better than the first movie. Also Rush was really nice and The Hobbit 2

Intel 525 120gb drive when in use gets to 52 degrees C, however i don't think it's all from the drive. It's sitting in a small enclosure with other parts that generate heat after all. Temperature monitor used is HWmonitor.

Now i hope that everything will work all right Name is Marius and i am from Romania. Tried to pay subscription fee but for some reason or other i get an error with unsupported currency. Anyway, it's nice to be here and this place is great for my Y500. -
Y400/Y500 - Anyone running an SSD? Opinions, experiences, boot times?
mariusart78 replied to whatisit's topic in Lenovo
Every Y500 has mSATA port that is free in the models that do not feature a 16gb SSD. So you can easily place a SSD drive in that port and leave the 1tb standard drive intact for storage. That is what i have done and now i run a 120gb SSD OS drive and 1tb of storage About 5 seconds boot time windows 8 with legacy boot not uefi, definitely worth the investment as the oem hdd is very slow (5400 rpm).- 119 replies

Lenovo Y400 / Y500 - unlocked BIOS / wlan whitelist mod
mariusart78 replied to svl7's topic in Lenovo
Hi all, I have the same problem as NyMartin, i have ordered a 7260ac dual band wlan but i wonder if there are any risks involved in the process of modding the bios. Also i understand that any bios version above 2.0 is not official since it does not appear on the support page for the Y500.
