  1. Transcend is the way to go i have only win 7 in AHCI mode sequential read : 530 sequential write : 300 I have also seen that ADATA has issues so i preferred not to buy it, i think now is best time to buy m2 2242 ssd 256 GB cost about 100e and it is giving this notebook lot of performance boost. Note that Transcend also support DEVSLP but so far no issue with that.
  2. I have 755M SLI and i can run GTA5 1080p textures very high others high, only have to lower population variety. Project Cars : 50-70 fps 1080p settings high to very high But at this point i would opt for another notebook rather than buy it. I found only 2 on Ebay each costs around 250$ and if you are from europe you will have to pay additional tax, also dont forget if you have 1 card notebook, it has different adapter and the more powerful one has to be bought so another money. At this point if you want to boost performance for reasonable price go for SSD into m2 NGFF slot because that 5400 rpm is the weakest part of the entire sytem, ofc after the WLAN card
  3. I have AC dongle but what really sucks about it is that this notebook got only 3 USBs so you find it annoying to plug it each time also the dongles are big if you want good one also carrying it around sucks, PCIe mini WLAN card swap looks more comfortable. So flashing for me is better i think. Also AC dongle costs about 50 euro as PCIe mini 7260AC only 30 here.
  4. Also looking for Wifi cards, but what is on the market here is basically Intel 7260AC, but you have to go for modded BIOS. because white listing which kinda sucks. After removal of white lists each should work that is PCIE mini.
  5. Lenovo dust cleaner is ofc a joke, best way is to take the cover down and go with compressed air or at least remove gpu or what you have from UltraBay. I would also recommend to get rid of the all bloatware that it came with. Fresh win7 installation way to go.
  6. Cooler will help mainly from outside of the notebook inside temperature will go down about 5 degrees, but it can be difference between performance degradation and not. Best way is to take it apart and do it with compressed air. I didn't experienced high temperature on SSD, the GPU is bigger problem. y510p 755m SLI m2 NGFF SSD
