  1. Hi all, I am new to this site but until now haven't had any trouble with this beast, or at least put up with them. I have had trouble for a while with the actual display not working, I have been using an external monitor which has worked up until now. The problem came when I bought a new one and went to go dual screen. I stupidly changed some settings and restarted. Now nothing works at all. I have taken the surrounding parts to the screen apart and have found the cable that runs to the back of the screen has frayed a little. I am having such a pain trying to find a replacement cable for it, as I am hoping this will be the cheaper option before buying a replacement screen. Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. Hello everyone! I am looking for an answer to a problem I cannot find a solution to ... I purchased an Amd wx 4150 MXM GPU module su e bay to upgrade my HP 8570W Mobile Workstation which is currently equipped with a Fire Pro M4000. Once the new GPU has been installed, the PC screen no longer turns on but works only with external monitors connected via the docking station. The same happens once the drivers are updated! If I put the old card back on, the integrated monitor starts working again ... How can I fix it?
  3. Hello everyone! First of all sorry if this isn't the correct forum to post this. I bought a laptop few days ago. The laptop is Sager P150EM. Cpu:i7 3610qm Gpu: amd hd 7970m Ram: 8gb Os: windows 8.1 pro So my problem is that everytime i install the amd driver after the intel driver my laptop freezes or gets a bsod or something that stops it from working. Any help would be appreciated. I saw somewhere something about vbios does this matter anywhere?
  4. Hi, I'm having problems trying to connect a GTX 750 Ti to my Lenovo T420 using the dock EXP GDC Beast (express card version). My laptop: Lenovo T420 RAM: 8GB DDR3 CPU: Intel Core i5 2520M GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000 My problem is: if I plug the express card and I turn on the laptop it doesn't boot up and the screen becomes horrible, with coloured pixels and a sound like "bip-bip". If I try plugging the express card when the laptop is already turned on it sees the gpu, but if try installing the drivers I have to apply the modifies restarting the computer. I hope you understood my problem (I don't speak English very well). Please help me, It's making me crazy! EDIT: I didn't say that if I plug the express card when the pc is already turned on, in the device menager there is "Error 12" on the gtx 750 ti
  5. Hi, I changed my original wlan card in my Y510P notebook to an Intel AC7260 card. The WIFI is working well BUT the Win7 couldn't install the bluetooth driver. It couldn't recognize the bluetooth modul. Does anyone have idea to solve this problem?
  6. Hello .My laptop (clevo p170em) have a problem. When powered on only show the power button light in white and the bluetooth in orange. Then show three blinking lights (num lock, caps lock, scroll lock) and the fan runs, and past few seconds then the laptop powered itself off. The screen always black you tell me what happens, or what does that code indicate? Best regardsIgnacio
  7. Hi everyone, I hope I'm not going to write off-topic; I own an Acer Predator 15 (G951) notebook, and it never gave me problems before; I've never used the integrated audio jack port because I usually listen to music and other stuff through Bluetooth headphones, but few weeks ago I noticed that putting a jack connector in the jack port only deactivates the sound from the pc speakers, but the headphones don't appear in the "devices" section, and the sound coming out from the headphones is really faint and distorted (only if the system slider of sound is at the maximum level and the sound should be very noisy, when the level is lower I don't hear anything at all). Also, when I put a jack in the microphone jack port of the pc I hear the classic sounds of the jack which touches the pin connectors inside the port, but it doesn't happen with the headphones port. I tried almost everything: I changed a lot of headphones, both phone headphones with a single jack and pc headsets with two jacks (for the headphones and for the microphone) but every time it's the same. I installed and reinstalled a lot of different versions of the audio drivers, both from Acer and the productor (Realtek), and nothing changes, I also tried with Ubuntu and it's the same. What could be the cause, and can the problem be solved without any technic intervention? Anyway the warranty for my pc is still valid, but the assistance should be the very last resource (I should do a backup of everything and format and so on). And, the last question, I flashed a custom VBIOS some time ago, does this compromise the warranty? Should I really reflash the original VBIOS or it's not so likely they're going to check on this? Thank you all for your attention!
  8. Hello all, I am new in this area (eGPU) and have some issues. When I Google my problems, this forum pops out to me. After review some posts, I still cannot figure out my problems, so I decide to register on the site and ask my questions here. Those are my parts: Lenovo Thinkpad x230 with i7-3520M, 16GB RAM, Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 EXP GDC BEAST, Expresscard EVGA 500 W1 80+, 500W Continuous Power, Power Supply Gigabyte GTX 960 Overclocked 4 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card GV-N960WF2OC-4GD My problems are: When I pluged in the Expresscard, the computer can catch the graphics card, and it told me to restart the computer if I want to use it. After I restarted the computer, it worked! The fans on the graphics card spun, and I can see the screen in the external monitor, and it showed me that I was using GTX 960 now. I tried to watch the movie, and it worked well. But the fans on the graphics card stopped spinning. I am not sure it is normal or not, but my computer still worked fine. HOWEVER, when I tried to play the video game, it worked at first. But after about half hour, it would suddenly shut down, then restart the computer. At this time the graphics card did not work, so I have to use the internal LCD. I was trying to re-start the graphics card, but it still did not work and it was a little warm. I have to wait for some time to use the graphics card and the whole kit again. Does anyone know how this happen? It worked for a long time for movie(at least 1.5hrs), but it only worked for 30min for game. I also tried to change in BIOS. Inside "POWER" I think there is "PCI Express Power management", and the default is "enable". I tried to change it into "disable", but the result is still the same. I tried this change because I thought this is referred to "Disable PCIe Power Saving", but I am not sure. Or does anyone know where should I change? I would very much appreciate your help in this case. Thank you in advance! Sammael

  13. Hello guys , After modding my bios with svl7's mod to my y510p with gt755m, everything went fine except one thing. My default gpu's core clock shows 1098 and the ultrabay gpu's core clock shows 980.Also range of overcloking is wider on the default gpu than its on the ultrabayed one.I have done that nvflash thing on the second post either.I hope you can make me understand the reason behind this and help me solve the problem.
  14. Hey guys. I've been testing my eGPU setup for about a year now - and it works, but it is almost unusable, do to some very strange small issues. First off i had a problem, which might be in relation to my "real problem" so therefore i am mentioning it, for a long time that my gpu just crashed - after reading on this forum I tried to remove the power for the Akitio fan and that seem to have fixed the crashes. But my real problem is kinda weird - so everything works great - in every benchmark i get a significant better score with the eGPU. But it dosen't feel like it when i use it - my games "glitch out" when i use the eGPU, they lag significant more - and simple text rendering is lagging to. ex. scrolling through af webpage is a nightmare with the eGPU - everything kinda "blinks" doing the scrolling - also in sublime text (a IDE for coding) scrolling through only 200 lines of codes is "lagging" beyond what is bearable. I would like to upload an video of this behavior if anyone thinks that is necessary ? Hope some one can help me out with an ideer or two ? Regards, Sip
  15. Good day guys, I'm still learning about egpu. Is my laptop compatible with pe4c 3.0 with gtx 960? Laptop: Toshiba Pro L630 Core i5-430m 2.53ghz 4gb ram no pcie slot vcard use: Zotac GTX 960 PSU use: Generic 600w egpu: PE4C 3.0 mPCIE Issue: the egpu fan is spinning and I the led lights are turned on to 2 green lights. I replaced my wifi to egpu. The problem is my laptop not detecting the egpu. Sometimes it turns of my laptop after a few seconds. I tried all the combination of delay switch and the hotplug trick. Please HELP ME... thanks
  16. Hey Guys, i've got bit of a problem with my current eGPU Setup. I followed some of the excellent guides and wanted to do a small but powerful setup. My Aikito Thunder 2 is only powered by a 150Watt Leicke AC Adapter but i think the gtx 970 also needs power supply maybe thats the error here. When i'm booting with everything plugged in i get an "ACPI_BOOT_ERROR" from windows if i hot plug everything i get this little warning sign in the devices manager with an error 43, maybe cause the graphic card don't get enough power. I also ordered the Dell DA-2 from amazon and it's coming tomorrow but what i'm missing is this 6 to 8 pin to dc barrel plug adapter which i cant find online and i have no expertise in building cables Maybe if someone of you guys knows how to build something like this i would be very thankful and of course paying you something for this. Hope you can help me thanks in advance Here is the current setup: Here is the error: and here is the cable i need but i dont know how to build or where to buy:
  17. Hey guys! Earlier this week I upgrade my laptop with a new network card. I bought a Intel WiFi AC 7260 for my Lenovo Y510p. So most of you probably know, Lenovo's BIOS has a whitelist. So I flashed the BIOS so that I could use the new network card. This happened without any problems, I installed the network card and booted my laptop. Drivers worked the moment I logged in and connecting to a network was easy and fast. Checked speedtest.net for the up and down speeds, perfect! There is a problem I encounterd though, it has nothing to do with my BIOS (I think) or my new network card. It has something to do with my GPU's. I run an SLI configuration of 2 x Nvidia GeForce GT755m. (one main, one ultrabay) I was following a guide made by @svl7 about flashing the BIOS. After the part of flashing the BIOS there was something about flashing the vBIOS too, because if you are running 2 GPU's it was not going to work properly. When flashing the vBIOS I encountered the problem. As explained by the guide, I used NVflash to flash vBIOS, when using the command "nvflash -a" to view adapters and their "index" they were on "0" and "1". I tried to flash both of them, "1" flashed easily without any problems, "0" did not flash at all. Now the error displayed was: "ERROR: GPU NOT DETECTED." Has anyone got an idea of how to fix this? I'm not able to flash one of the GPU's. If I play a videogame on my laptop, every now and then (intervals of 1-5 minutes) my screen goes black, audio stutters and comes back to normal after a few seconds. Hope you guys can help me out! If there's any info you need let me know and I'll edit the post!
  18. Between changing the display and the lvds-cabel (Display-cabel) there is another point that may matter. At first I changed both, the display and the lvds-cabel but the artifacts kept occurring o my screen. I also checked that my HDMI-output was good, so the error couldn't come from my graphiccards (650m sli). In my case, the problem was a kind of a potential-error. It seems that the electrical resistence between the the display and the frame (which is connected to the body) was to high. I fixed it with some aluminium foil. It must have been some kind of potential issue but the artifacts are gone ... I'm no pro, so please don't be rude if I made mistakes Problem came back, it was another thing The contacts of the lvds-cabel were oxidated. I used some contactspray and now everything is working propably
  19. Hello techinferno-team, I decided to finally register on the site and in this forums as I have read a lot about eGPU implementations and actually tried to accomplish one by my self. Those are my parts: Lenovo Thinkpad t430 with i5 3320M, 8GB DC RAM, 160GB SSD, Intel HD4000 EXP GDC BEAST, Expresscard bequiet! 450 Watt PSU Windows 10 64bit. So far, so good - but it just won't work. Everytime I boot my Laptop up with eGPU connected, it loads the Windows 10 screen with the blue logo on it. After app. 2 minutes a little circle spins around, suggesting the PC is loading the OS. I waited to hours, the screen remained the same. Then I tried booting Windows up, then instering the eGPU. That does not work either, as the card is not recognized. I tried putting laptop to sleep, plugging eGPU in, then waking it from sleep. It just turns off. I also tried powering the PSU of the eGPU on when the windows logo appears, but the card is not recognized and the fan of the GTX670 spins like crazy. First time this appeared I almost thought I bricked the card. Then I tried another thing: I used the egpu with my old Thinkpad t500 on windows 7. I plugged it in, booted up, installed drivers, done. It works. So the eGPU components should work fine., I I am absolutely at loss here. What can I do to get this thing working? I have read like every article about eGPUs on T430 and on Windows10... But it just won't work. I would very much appreciate your help in this case; furthermore I hope this is the right place to post this in. If not, I apologize - this is my first post. I am not a native speaker, so if you do not understand something in my text feel free to ask, I will do my best. Thank you so much! daku I tried every setting advised in the existing troubleshooting guides at least twice, none of them worked.
  20. Yesterday I installed a tested 7970m in my laptop because my old video card (675m) was broken (artifacts all the way), When it turned my laptop on however my bios said there was no video card detected. here is what I tried so far: Clean connectors and reseat card downgrade bios to A05 upgrade to unlocked bios A05 upgrade Bios to A11 and A13 So far none of the above made the video card show up in the bios. How do I proceed?
  21. Today I was trying to revert my Alienware's Nvidia 460m card back to the A04 bios to remove the downclocking functionality. After I reverted the bios, I changed some of the settings in the f12 boot menu, mainly the gpu throttle temp (which I thought it wouldn't have) and made a few other tweaks which i don't remember. After it restarted, the display lit up but only gives me a black screen. I can hear the fans begin to start, but the stop and restart every second, after a few seconds I can hear a clicking noise after the fans start each time. I removed the computer and system batteries and heldthe power button for 30 seconds before rebooting but it didn't help, I've also tried to blind flash the bios but to no avail (though I'm not sure the flashdrive I'm using will work for a blind flash). Does anyone know what's wrong or have anything I can try? Recap of Symptoms - Black Screen - Fans start and stop - Clicking noise
  22. Hi guys. I bought new memory for my nb MSI GX740 with core i5 m460 processor. I have 4GB (2x2GB) of RAM and i bought 8GB (2x 4GB) ddr3 (PC3-10600S), but it isn't work. I mean win7 starts normally, but it is unstable - blue screen etc. I have already installed actual bios - 1.0F from MSI website, but new memory still not work properly. Any ideas why? I have checked it on GE70, and new RAM is ok.
  23. Hi everybody! 1. Battery Should I take out my battery when I have plugged in AC power supply ? My laptop is always set on Lenovo dynamic graphic, and main task of it, is gaming. 2. Graphic Sometimes when im on "desktop" screen blink once (fast blink) and then Laptop is not reading GTX660M. After blink i must restart laptop to be able for GTX660M GPU use... Is it some kind of issue ? Or just Nvidia/Lenovo drivers are crappy and after turning off dedicaded GPU, drivers can't turn it on again ?
  24. Hi all; I'm having some strange problems when booting up my Lenovo Y500 past two days. When I power up the device, screen doesn't turn on as it was before. One way that I able to use the computer is closing the top cover and re-opening it. But before doing this I need to wait around twentyfive seconds until the system boots. If I'm a bit quick and do this top cover trick before the lockscreen appears ( of corse I need to guess every time ) the screen turns on but there is no video on it. This way the screen turns on and everything is normal until I reboot or shotdown the device. For a good understanding I have taken a short video to explane the situation... Edit: Please take a look what I have found last night. Is this the screen cable ? Correct me if I wrong but I'm clearly sure that this thing doesn't have to seen from there... Is there any possibility that these are some kind of hardware problem, not the software one ? I really need your help bros, thanks in advance... ( I'm sorry about my English, thanks for reading )
  25. Hello there! I have this notebook since 2/11. Since July of this year, the screen started to go black during normal use, and a message appears telling that the an error occurred to the nvidia driver. I've tried a lot of different drivers, but the error persists. In a long playing session, when I quit the game, sometimes the screen show some artifacts, as you can see in the attached pictures. Did anyone had this problem before?! Is my Asus dying!? I'm willing to give a try on the 660M mode, but I want to make sure that this is only a vga problem that I have, not a general failure! Thanks a lot!
