[BIOS/vBIOS - MODS] Prema Mod™ & Stock

Just to reply to myself that may be useful to someone else: I asked on an italian forum to someone who has just received his P150SM with a 8970m for his vBIOS version and he has the same bios as me (0.15.032.000.003.044465 (BR44465.003))

So... I won't risk updating the vBIOS of my GPU since newer ones are not proven to work on Enduro setups.

@joluke yeah, hundreds are already using the new P37xSM Mod without a problem and so far I heard of only two cases incl. You who had difficulties.

I tried all day to brick a system, but I am unable to replicate the scenario...comparing component configurations atm...

On a side note: In case your re-seller acts up on you we can always recover any system by sending you a fresh chip (provided it's a BIOS/ME and not an EC or hardware issue). :)

And it's weird but I suspect one of the graphic cards is dead...

Since it is on warranty, I'm gone drop it in the store, still waiting for an answer from them. Thanks a lot my friend, I'll keep you updated.

Got an answer from the store and gave them my full address to pickup the laptop. RMA it is... and they advised me to flash this custom BIOS (Prema's) to enjoy the laptop to its maximum... simply it is weird because they said more clients told that the BIOS flashed pretty well and i was the only one who had trouble with it... Serious business hahaha :D

WTF! :D Maybe I should add a banner:

"Recommended by Clevo, to unlock it's full potential"!

My first thought LOL :D

The advice came from my friend not the store.. Of course.. They (clevo) would not approve this behaviour for sure.

Well, my reseller is a dickhead if i compare it to your reseller....

Well I'm separated from the store for about 250km and still they arranged everything so that I would pay the minimum for the delivery of the laptop ;)

Win 7 doesn't support the BGRT boot logo the regular way.

For Win 7 set OS to "Win 7" and "UEFI" to enabled, then in "CSM" section set "Launch Video OpROM policy" to "UEFI"

Set OS to Win 8.1 and UEFI to enabled, only then it will use the BGRT boot logo during Windows boot up sequence. :)

Where can I change OS to win 7?

In uefi I can choose others and windows 8.1 only

Edit: no need, setting the video oprom policy to uefi only worked!!! Thanks

Did you follow this Tutorial?: Tutorials | Prema Mod

Guess that's how Clevo made them...

Oh, you said in the other thread that my EC values were probably broken so i thought flashing your BIOS would help. But your silent mode seems identical to the stock BIOS values...

I guess you cant change when the turbo fan kicks in/turns off?

Hello,

my first message to this forum!

I bought a rebranded Clevo P370SM3 and started to update the BIOS to Prema's.

I downloaded it from his site and followed the instructions. After i keyed "step2" few things happened:

- There was text in some phase reading something like:

pdr region does not exist

gpr? region does not exist (not sure wast gpr or gbr)

-Upon updating the EC, it says following:

Project name: P375SM???

post-22464-14494996996613_thumb.jpg

Is this ok to continue?

Yep! :D

"pdr region does not exist

gpr? region does not exist"

These are optional parts of the ME Firmware that are not used on these models!

As for the EC2 ID.

Clevo originally planed to only use it for the additional light control on the P375SM model, but later decided to include extended keyboard light functionality on P370SMx, too.

(It is also mentioned in the readme that this is normal and has to be confirmed with "YES")

These are the new functions (need to update hotkey driver to 8.0124 or later):

Add 3-zone light control for backlight keyboard

Fn + keypad “7” key to control left zone light

Fn + keypad “8” key to control middle zone light

Fn + keypad “9” key to control right zone light

Add Fn + keypad “5” key to control touchpad light function

Here the new Hotkey Apps:

Win 8.1: ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/P1xxSM/OTHERS/Hotkey_W81.zip

Win8: ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/P1xxSM/OTHERS/Hotkey.zip

ENJOY the Mod! :)

It works with 7.0026 on Windows 7 too. I'm using the sager one.

Back online and back to updating BIOS. It finished flawlessly!

Thank you Prema! No doubt, with every install of your BIOS, you spread a little bit (alot!) of happiness all around the world! Keep up the good work!

So, how does one change the boot screen? Could you do it for me? :)

THX for the kind words! :D

Regarding custom logos http://forum.techinferno.com/clevo-sager/3119-%5Bbios-mods%5D-prema-mod-latest-stock-bios-122.html#post79839

Does this bios update do anything for the fan profiles?
Negative,

The bios updates both modified and OE do not have options to change fan profiles.

Only the P1xxSM Mods offer the choice of two different profiles.

Thanks a lot Prema!

Just a simple question. I brought my laptop from an Italian builder, they load a custom BIOS, but the barebone is P150SM. Can I flash flawlessy the stock Clevo bios on the laptop?
