  1. good question, i was also already wondering if@khenglish also swapped out the vram chips with desktop ones? or maybe just overvolted the 980m vram for such insane clocks Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10

    CLEVO@COMPUTEX 2016

right, mixed up meaning that the first model to be introduced and which already has been leaked with 2048 cores is the 1080M with the actual 1080 mobile following suit sometime later Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
  3. btw, even tho the M5500 comes with 8GB vram it only sports memory chips on one side of the mxm board... 16gb vram mobile gpus, here we come! Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
  4. a bit late to the party, but that M5500 looks like a sweet alternative for machines not being able to physically handle a regular 980 Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
  5. as long as AMD provides sufficient performance clevo will surely offer polaris based machines Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
  6. have u tried throttlestop? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. please max out the following sliders visible on your screenshot and then try again: turbo boost short power max turbo boost power time window turbo boost power max processor current limit Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. if i understand correctly, your cpu is throttling right? are u sure its thermal throttling and not power or tdp throttling? to avoid such things, make sure to max out all the sliders in xtu pertaining to short / long power boost, tdp and amperages! basically max out everything that uses watts or amps as units and then try again Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. with high temps, it usually is a quick fix and yes, the 15 incher has aluminum hestsink fins, whereas the 17 incher gives u all copper on the cpu side. based on reports it can get you around 3-5C less, nothing to sniff at for such a bargain price! what are your load / gaming temps like now? been playing some tomb raider lately and maxxed out with all effects, max AA, AF, tressFX and whatnot at 2880x1620 resolution both cpu and gpu are in the mid 60s 980M at stock, cpu at 4.3ghz all cores with fans on auto Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. so in the end windows actually boots properly and ure able to use the gpu? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk if thats the case, consider urself lucky, since dell cards are known NOT to work in clevo machines
  11. hm this sounds weird... 1) check dust accumulation in your system 2) when was the last time youve repasted your cpu? make sure to use a high performance TIM like ICD, GC extreme of thermal grizzly kryonaut 3) check if your cpu heatsink makes proper contact with the cpu die 4) check if your cpu heatsink heatpipes are damaged and working properly (get hot instantly when u heat up one end and touch the other) 5) when on desktop idle, check your task manager to make sure no background processes unnecessarily stress the cpu (botnet malware is known to do that) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. holy crap@khenglish, ure beating all my personal highscores with a friggin mobile ES cpu one and a half generations back *lol* loving those hardware mods though, this is what distinguishes TI from NBR, the amount of original work Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. voted Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  14. most probably, considering it says its for the P870DM and that machine sports the 200W model Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk btw, hilarious how the watercooled gx700 has lower core and vram clocks than the air cooled clevo gpus also, totally not surprised that the aorus 980 machine is delayed due to temperature problems....well, duh! 980 thin and light, aint happening! go get urselves a crapple instead!
  15. omg so first u have a vbios problem and then once u got it working got the 8 beep lcd edid corruption? now thats what id call super bad luck! but also nice persistence Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
