Currently in the US office, we are testing on the Skull Canyon and Razer Blade Stealth. Nope? The TB3 connection provides 40 Gbps but the PCIe slot only uses 32 Gbps to follow PCIe specifications. Makes 8 Gbps leftover which can be used for peripheral stuff. Ethernet takes 1 Gbps, makes 7 Gbps left for the USB ports. Unless one is going to use only external SSDs with these ports, it's not going to happen that the bandwidth is used in a way that the GPU performance is crippled. However I spend about 40% of my life on the road and any product that fits a desktop card is bigger than I want to carry with me. I have been looking for something like the Acer Graphics Dock. The issue with that is that it does not even come with last years top end card as it has a Nvidia GTX 960M. Since we have a company rep on this form I figured I would ask if there is any chance that they are working on a something similar to the Acer Graphics Dock with a GTX 1080 in it? What I really want is a slim laptop with a world class keyboard (In my opinion Thinkpads still have the best) and then have one of these docs to plug in when I get back to my hotel for the night. We're aware that the Core has crippled performance when the USB and Ethernet ports are in use. This is something we're researching about with our own product. @Ness We haven't encountered any problems that we weren't able to fix! I don't have an answer as to why Razer is the only one that has an eGPU in the market currently. I can live without a RJ45 port, because the Notebook has Wifi anyway, but having to plug in another cable is a real turn off for me. I even hoped the Razer Core could charge the XPS 15, but it can't. All in all I really hoped for a 1 plug solution ( Charge, GPU, peripherals ). In the future maybe... The reply I got was that their implementation of thunderbolt port on the board could provide up to 15W (5V/3A) of power. That's too small to charge a laptop. Please don't try to do everything at once. USBs, RJs and powering laptop are all great but not essential.
