  1. Disassembling Ultrabay GPU does not void warranty. Running Dust Removal maxes out the fan speed. It should be very audible.
  2. LOL you're a few months late, buddy. 980M and 970M are out and they spank the 880M.
  3. Don't think the vBIOS has anything to do with it. Try disassembling the Ultrabay and unplugging/replugging the fan header. If your fan is dead, you'll need a replacement. If you're still under warranty, send it in. http://forum.techinferno.com/lenovo-ibm/3310-pictures-disassembled-y500-ultrabay-gpu.html
  4. It does not work with our laptops. Only Nvidia Inspector allows voltage control on an unlocked vBIOS.
  5. You can find which panel you have in HWiNFO64: http://forum.techinferno.com/lenovo-ibm/7375-y510p-lcd-overclock-3.html#post101808
  6. ROFL! Obvious spam bot is obvious. I know I'm replying to a robot, but it seems you are getting smarter. Instead of posting links to sports live streams or ads for penis extending pills, now you just copy other people's posts.
  7. True, same with NiBiTor in the past, there's always been the option to flash clocks and voltage permanently into the vBIOS. But a lot of people such as myself prefer overclocking in software instead.
  8. No issues at all with the modded BIOS, been running it for 1.5 years now. I didn't change any BIOS settings though, no need to if you're just gonna change WiFi card and overclock GPU. One thing I recommend, which isn't in svl7's sticky, is update to official 2.04 (instead of 2.02) using this before modding.
  9. You can try IdeaFan and a cooling pad or elevating the bottom.
  10. Yes all you had to do was look up.
  11. Everything looks much smoother. You can see see the difference even just dragging windows around or moving your mouse pointer slowly on the desktop. There's no jitter.
  12. Only on Y510p/Y410p, not on Y500/Y400.
  13. No it is completely unusable.
  14. It is not a custom CPU. The mobile i5 and i7 all have on-die iGPU, it's just that on the Y500 the display is comnected to the primary dGPU, so the iGPU is unusable regardless of which CPU you have or modded BIOS. The single GPU Y510p carries no such restriction, but SLI models of both laptops don't have accessible iGPU either since Optimus is incompatible with SLI.
  15. Yes both have 2 antennas. It is just plug-and-play after flashing the modded BIOS.
  16. Yes follow all the directions in the first post carefully.
  17. Yeah, try what jamescc suggested. Flash the backup of your original BIOS, update to official 2.04 using this, and then mod it again. This'll put both BIOS and EC version at 2.04 as right now you have BIOS on 2.04 and EC on 2.02. Not sure if it'll make any difference but it's worth a shot.
  18. Use the existing ones.
