  1. Hello, If i remind correctly, p170hm has no optimus support, so if you see the boot logo, it seems that your vga card is working. Try to flash the vbios given by Prema above.
  2. Hello, It's not compatible. That because of the clevo bios. But there is maybe a hope, kindly ask to Prema for his bios V3.
  3. First of all, yes your CPU is overclockable, it was maint for. Then, what power is your PSU? the first barrier you will hit is probably that point. Run some benchmarks and tell us your temperatures (CPU, GPU,...) or better some screenshots. Finally, if you really want to try an overclock, do you see arrows around the values in the multipliers section, when you mouseover? if yes, you should be abble to increase these values.
  4. Hello, Drivers with modded inf file could be found here You will have to enable driver enforcement signature and install the drivers with administrator privilege.
  5. Even on battery with dynamic mode selected on Clevo Control center, the power draw is too much for the battery: i've forgotten to plug the psu twice with my P150em (3920xm + 970m), i've ended the playtime twice with a sudden shutdown after few minutes and the most important, a battery very very very hot! Don't play with your safety (and less important with your laptop), plug the beast when using power.
  6. The gtx 980m will work in your P150EM, but it could be a pein in the ass to make it work correctly with stock bios. The only bios with native support for the 9xxm serie is the one from Prema, but the version V3 (could only be given by Prema partners resellers or by Prema himself). Otherwise, you will need a modded .inf file for the drivers. So like Stormyandcold said, upgrade only if you need to have a laptop. I will add that if you want to enjoy massive overclock, you will have to spend an extra 100$ on a 230 or 330W modded PSU.
  7. If you really plan to buy the Eurocom's kit, just ask them the correct bios and vbios, they normally provide them. And if you want to thank someone, think to Mr Prema ( because bioses provided by Eurocom are his babies).
  8. Hello, You have just to right click on the taskbar icon and from device setting tab, choose "disable when usb device connected" PS: sorry for french language on picture, i was too lazy to change it
  9. Hello Raz2Mak, Really, flashing Prema's vbios isn't that hard, it's done within Windows, just have to follow the txt.file info. For the seller's choice, you may answer this question: can you pick up expedition from Canada in the options (no charges)? -if yes no charges, so price is lower, the upgrade kit is full, and you will have Prema bios V3 and a Prema vbios for the card (no modded file.inf needed for driver installation). The card is normally flashed, but you will have to flash your system. -if no, choose CEG, you will save a lot of money ; it will just force you to flash the card, to grab a driver with modded .inf file and to install it with driver signature disabled. Pretty sure that with a small donation and gently asked to him, you could have lastest bios from Prema. For your 180w PSU, do not worry: p15x-SM & 880m were sold with the same, so it will work with the 980m. I tried a 970m coupled with a 3740qm in a P150em, and i could add 200MHz to the card without problem.
  10. Windows 10 installed yesterday on P370em with an sli of 970m, i do not have to report any problem for the moment. Installation made with the microsoft media creation tool, in update mode (not ISO) and i 've had to insall myself is the Nvidia driver. Just had to boot with driver signature check disabled, and modded .inf file: also, i've done that like a mad man, without uninstalling previous driver. Only the Authentec fingerprint driver and software is missing (or better, not re- installed yet)
  11. If it's a Dell 330w PSU, you need to solder/put together the two white wires on one side , and both the two black and the green wires on the other side.
  12. Sorry for the late answer, i was AFK. If you have only the last vbios from Prema, and not the bios V3 (bios for the laptop, which only comes with purchase in Prema's partners shop), yes you will need a modded inf file in order to install the driver. This concern the P-em serie.
  13. I will lie if i tell you that it's a simple thing to make the 9xx card works on Clevo em series (could be a waste of time if tweaking is not a hobby): so if your local reseller provides both the card and the installation for that price, just go for it. you will probably enjoy the upgrade. the 970m will lift up the perf of your laptop for sure.
  14. In Europe, you have CEG: 570€ (same seller in Ebay here)
  15. Do you have copper heatsinks on your P150em or the stock ones? If stock, you should go for a 970m: from a 675m, you will have a pretty nice upgrade, perfectly working with the 180w PSU (even with overclock).
  16. my 680m sli done around 9320 points in fire strike @ max settings, the 970m sli is around 11100points @stock. Do you have your answer, Biklas7?
  17. you can, but you will need a modded inf file. I'm on driver v353.00 and no problem found. OC is enabled, at least with custom vbios.
  18. I really don't know, it seems to be a little high for daily use, even if the card managed to stay under 80°C, I should go for a +290MHz/ 1.050v for that.
  19. I don't know for 980m, but i gave a try on a P150em past sunday and i managed this: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3920XM Processor Extreme Edition,CLEVO P150EM voltage on the 970m was 1.1625 V
  20. I'm not an expert on your model of laptop, but as it is a clevo, you should not be able to overclock it in the bios: you need intel XTU. And leave the turbo feature enabled, you will overclock by the multiplier.
  21. Do you have disabled driver signing check? Maybe it can help doing that. When booting hit F8 key, then choose "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" and try to install again.
  22. Hey, you have got five posts, grab your vbios here!
  23. You can find the modded inf file here: just pick up the inf file, download driver from nvidia (drivers in the link are optimised for image quality). Run the nvidia installer, it will unpack the archive in C:\Nvidia...\350.12; then copy/paste the inf file into the "display.driver" folder (you will have an overwrite warning, if not, you're in a wrong folder)). Don't forget to disable driver signature if on windows 8. And run the setup.exe. Reboot. Done.
  24. You're trying to compare a wild beast to a tamed one! Origin E17 is the same as eurocom P5 pro, not panther.
  25. @zeuxlarsson: i agree you about the M18x and also the "18 R1", they are trully upgradable; i was talking about the new generation of AW, thinking that the OP said "new laptop".
