  1. That's a good idea j95, so that other users can just use grandanoke's VBIOS to make sure their 770M is compatible with the R3 - and plus if svl7 modifies it then it will be a fully overclockable & overvoltable option as well! It's been a bit of a mystery as to why some 770M's work and other's don't so it would be great to have nailed it down to a specific VBIOS file that is compatible with the R3.

  2. @grandanoke very few were able to successfully upgrade their R3s/770m proving that it is vBIOS related, so you could request svl7 to modify this specific version to 'rev 02' (adjustable voltage/power target...) http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/4635-bios-vbios-modification-request-thread-svl7.html consider donating.Download the latest GPU-Z Download TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.7.7 | techPowerUp click save card BIOS and upload the vBIOS file here (.zip), helping members upgrade succeed. Thanks.

  4. Switchable graphics is not supported, enabling iGPU caused this. Specs? - Unplug power cord - Remove battery - Hold power button for 30 seconds - Remove CMOS coin battery (next to GPU fan) - Remove gtx 770m - Reinsert CMOS battery - Plug power cord - Power on -> Beeps -> hold power button until shutdown. - Power on -> F2 -> Integrated sound card disabled -> disable the integrated graphics - Second Advanced Menu -> Video Configuration -> disable IGP -> set display to PEG -> Exit menu 'Save Without Exit' -> shutdown. - Reinsert gtx 770m. - Power ON -> F2 -> shutdown. - Reinsert Battery.

  5. Ah sorry I didn't realise you have a 720QM processor. Throttling of the GPU occurs when your CPU draws excessive amounts of power. This rarely happens on any i7 CPU other than the extreme ones. When you try to overclock the i7 920/940xm then throttling is a real pain. Seeing as how you don't have an extreme processor you shouldn't have too many problems with throttling so I wouldn't worry about removing the centre pin. Fire up gpu-z, leave it running in the background then after gaming see if you notice any dips in the 850Mhz 3d clock speeds (suggesting throttling). If not then all is good

  7. When nando tried the version I made for akimox it didn't work for him. His ME FW was partially dead. I forget how he determined it had limited functionality, but hopefully he remembers and can tell you how to test it. If it is messed up I can write a ME FW based on your dump for you.

  10. Thank you very much! May I ask what did you change: volts ? clocks ? unlocked? Thanks, it's funny I found that guide on my own, at first it didn't work but then I remembered about windows 8 and the drivers signatures issues. After I had that figured out it worked fine!

  12. 93*C is roasting hot. Although the stock cooler on the 660M does a fairly good job with keep the temps in check with OC'ing even the best fan can't keep up. 93*C is dangerously high and I wouldn't recommend using it as a good relativistic benchmark. Ideally you should be hover between 60-70*C, 80*C is pushing it, and >90*C is just asking for trouble.

  13. More stuff exclusive for T|I users, voltage mods: All the vbios listed here are attached at the end of the post. ******************************** Nvidia 800m series: Nvidia GTX 880m (8GB version only): 'OC edition' -> unlocked overclocking limits, voltage adjustable, power target adjustable, optimized performance at higher clocks Can be used for all current 880m (Clevo, MSI and Dell). Nvidia GTX 870m: 'OC edition' -> see above Nvidia GTX 860m (GK104 variant): 'OC edition' -> see above. Refer to the file name to know which version is suited for your system. NOTE: Only for the Kepler version of the 860m. Silly Nvidia started giving different GPUs the same name. ******************************** Nvidia 700m series: Nvidia GTX 780m: 'OC edition' -> unlocked overclocking limits, voltage adjustable, power target adjustable, optimized performance at higher clocks Can be used for all current 780m (Clevo, MSI and Dell). Nvidia GTX 770m: 'OC edition' -> see above Nvidia GTX 765m: 'OC edition' -> see above. Refer to the file name to know which version is suited for your system. ********************************* Nvidia 600m series: MSI GTX 680m (4GB version): 'OC edition' revised -> higher limits for software overclocking, stock default clocks ----------------------- Dell GTX 680m (2GB version) vbios: 'OCedition' revised -> higher limits for software overclocking, stock default clocks same with increased 3d voltage ('OV') -> refer to the file name ----------------------- Clevo GTX 680m (4GB version) vbios: 'OCedition' revised -> higher limits for software overclocking, stock default clocks. For P1xxHM based systems I recommend only using version 80.04.29.00.01 !! Some users reported issue with other vbios versions (stock or modified, doesn't matter). EM users make sure you're on the latest BIOS / EC same with increased 3d voltage ('OV') -> refer to the file name (Same warning as above applies to P1xxHM users). ----------------------- K3000m: (Nvidia) K3000m - 80.04.3A.00.07 'OCedition' -> higher software overclocking limit Should work on all K3000m, unless you got a board ID mismatch. (HP) K3000m - 80.04.33.00.2E - 'OC edition' - > same as above, but probably the better choice if you use a HP machine ----------------------- K5000m: (Dell) K5000m - 80.04.33.00.35 - 'OCedition' -> higher software overclocking limit, stock 3d clocks 758MHz It's Dell but should work on all K5000m, unless you get a board ID mismatch. ----------------------- GTX 670mx: MSI 670mx (1.5GB) - 80.04.5B.00.A5_'OCedition'_rev00 -> higher software overclocking limits, tweaked performance at high clocks. Same board as the Clevo card. Clevo 670mx (3GB) - 80.04.58.00.03_'OC edition'_rev02 -> same as above, plus voltage is adjustable per software. ---------------------- MSI GTX 675mx: MSI 675mx (2GB) - 80.04.58.00.14_'OCedition'_rev00 -> higher software overclocking limits, tweaked performance at high clocks.
