  1. @Archivolt - I was able to run the .exe and it spit out Error 75: fparts.txt File not found. Any ideas?
  2. I feel like a real fool. Can someone post screenshots of their step by step process for creating their BIOS backup? I have a Y580 8.01 WIN8 and whenever I trying to run fptw64.exe from my desktop, a command line window will open up and close in a blink of an eye. What the hell am I doing wrong????
  3. If you are looking for a decent pair of headphones and you are only on a budget of about $150 I would look into the Audio Technica M50's. They consistently are rank higher than headphones at twice their price in sound reproduction. I have rarely if ever heard a negative reviews for these headphones from even the most critical of audiophiles. They are a great starter pair of headphones and they do not require an external amp to get your money's worth. Additionally at the moment they are selling on Amazon for as low as $110, and are a steal at that price. I would highly recommend them.
  4. Depends on your budget. There are a fair number of Intel CPU's that will be great for modern games, but they will come at a premium as compared to an AMD cpu. Where AMD CPU's are generally less expensive and catered towards tweakers and overclocking so they most of their BIOS and CPU's come out of the box with good tweaking software and unlocked multipliers.
  5. Well it is only logical that at high altitudes where the air is thinner there will be less volume of air for your fan to pass over your graphics card heat sink to dissipate the heat it generates, causing the high baseline temperatures at those altitudes. The more particles of air to absorb the radiated heat off the heat sink the more able your fan is to lower your temps. Looks like you need to seek lower ground!
  6. I have a Mamut backpack with a lapotop sleeve fits my Lenovo Y580 with ease. It has extra padding where the laptop sits, and I've haven't had any issues with my laptop since I've used it to tote it around.
  7. 93*C is roasting hot. Although the stock cooler on the 660M does a fairly good job with keep the temps in check with OC'ing even the best fan can't keep up. 93*C is dangerously high and I wouldn't recommend using it as a good relativistic benchmark. Ideally you should be hover between 60-70*C, 80*C is pushing it, and >90*C is just asking for trouble.
  8. Alienware really sets the standard and given Dell's current financial predicament they have been offering some very nice Alienware systems at a huge discount versus years past.
