[revised by svl7, 01/22/12] Here are some unlocked versions of the M18x BIOS, this means all the hidden BIOS menus are now available. This allows you to further tweak and overclock your machine, but some settings are very advanced and not meant to be touched by the average user, so use it with care and common sense. Unfortunately quite some of the links which were previously posted here are now invalid due to what happened with megaupload. I will try to recollect all the files and get fresh links, so I can provide the complete collection. That's nice It's just so amazing, that a simply thing like repasting the thermal paste can have so much great effect. Your notebooks gets cooler, becomes more silent and you can get more power by overclocking it

so i did the repasting with as5, cpu is doing okay, i got around 49degrees idle...gpu is doing okay also, i.e. in Intel XTU, if i do a 15 min graphics stresstest, the only thing that hits over 80 (~82) is the shaders. BUT, even though it's a pain to see temps at the higher 70s, and just one of them hits over 80. hmpf

cheers, my 555m is at 780 stable with stock bios, so should be able to break 800 with this voltmod! I will post the results later

hey what's going on big chief! sorry you won't be able to adjust your multi with a non-xm. but you can adjust your power limit to help maintain your max multi for an indefinite amount of time. you'll see some gains but nothing major like with an xm chip.
