mirnyx 10 Posted May 19, 2015 Hi, I have bios A16 there is no way to disable the built-in video card, this can be done by setting Setup 1.30, or flash the BIOS on the unlocked (there should be such a possibility). You disappear from the manager built dGPU 650M?Hi Megaxxx, yes, my eGPU is not visible in Device manager. I'll wait for any advise or do you have any ideas? Do you also have the 3D version of Dell 7720?@Nando4 is probably the best techpro guy here... so I guess answer from him might be most helpful for us. Thank youHi, I have a matrix monitor FullHD LED, glossy anti-glare. I have been buying at a problem that propodaet of despechera eGPU card.Solution:Remove the battery, wait, plugged in without the battery. Both cards appear in the Device Manager, but nVidia GeForce GT 650M again with an error for lack of resources. Next, disconnect both cards Manager, turn off the notebook, insert the battery, turn on the laptop, and both employ the cards since nVidia GeForce GT 650M. Works.Next, check the settings:The nVidia control panel settings to set "preferred graphics processor: a high-performance processor nVidia", "power management modes: preferred maximum performance." Then we go into the power settings, additional power plan settings, Pci express- link state power management - from network: Off.Then he came along the A16 BIOS flashed him more was no such problem! Devids 10 Posted May 20, 2015 Hi!I use a PE4C V2.1 with EC100 adapter. My laptop is a HP Elitebook 8470p with Intel HD4000, and I want to use a AMD Radeon 280X graphic card.I solved the error 12 with DSDT override and Setup 1.30 with Win 8.1.My problem, that the eGPU solution isn't stable. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Yesterday it worked perfectly, I played a game, and I doesn't have any problem, but today morning, it booted to black screen, then I tried to activate after booting, black screen again. I tried a couple of times and later it generated white or red vertical stripes on my external display, so at the end, this morning I can not use my eGPU system, and I had to go to work.Any idea what causes this, or how I can overcome this problem? ugleex 11 Posted May 21, 2015 So I'm contemplating on upgrading my 750 TI for my 2570p (then I could use the 750 with my 2540p or something) and have been reading a lot of various tests - another 2570p member has been recommending 680 gtx (one of the reasons is that it can be used with the dell block - but it's not clear whether this is plug and play like the 670 and below listed in the 2570 owner thread) but I didn't find any conclusive real life tests with this card vs the gtx 770 and 970 aside from this post http://forum.techinferno.com/implementation-guides-pc/8099-1[email protected]%5Bunclejam%5D.html And here it looks like nando achieved very similar scores using 770 than 970 after all the recommended optimizations - so I guess my question is - which of these 3 should I be shooting for/would you guys recommend?Bench-wise, every site shows that 770 is very similar to 680, and I can find a 680 around where I live for fairly cheap (100-150), no 970s and 770s are 200+; online it's generally the same as well (680 costing generally less and 970 is incredibly high). After that, I removed Wifi card, and install the connect cable to mini-PCIe port, the red LED of PE4C is on. Then I press the power button of the laptop, the red LED on PE4C turns to green, and the white LED on GTX 960 is on. The fans on GTX 960 moved a bit, and stoped. But the laptop didn't display the Alienware logo as usual, it stuck there with a empty screen, no beep. 1. I tried boot laptop without PE4C, and connect PE4C after the system goes to sleep, but it stuck again. 2. I tried go into the boot menu without PE4C, and connect PE4C, but the laptop just shutdown itself. As you can see from the attachment, Alienware M14X R1 is listed in official compatibility table. Need help please! Thank you.

Timilllo 15 Posted May 22, 2015 THank you. I will try this on a Clevo W110ER.- - - Updated - - -Hi everyone, first time posting in the V2.0 version of the forums! I might be the first one to try an eGPU on a W110ER. I bought just a regular breakout adapter for the wireless slot for my laptop. It comes with a foot long flatflex cable (I'll just post a pic) so anyways, it works flawlessly. No issues with booting up or timing issues which I had with my old T420 (even after they fixed the TLOUD issues on the BIOS) This laptop does have a 650M which does nothing when my 550ti is plugged. The nvidia card inside the laptop isn't connected to any physical port like my G46VW so I don't disable it at all which is nice. It works on my internal screen just fine too! I am going to purchase either a 7xx series card or an AMD card (both work great tested a 290x which my friend had but forgot to take pics sorry guys!) His 290x ran at 3.0 x1 which means 1GB/s so above 70% performance of the card at the lowest. PICS:imgur: the simple image sharerimgur: the simple image sharerWhat drivers does the W110ER need for 560 ti? Is the 650M disable? Or it can be used as normal?Thank you
liamm 10 Posted May 23, 2015 Hello again, I ran 06, 11 and 13, but as it was the first time I did this, I don´t understand the results. When I ran the software, It changed my screen colors to a lower setting and when the benchmark finished, it threw a 0 result.3Dmark11Score P6213Graphics Score 7963Physics Score 3709Combined Score 3801.3Dmark13Fire Strike 4734Sky Diver 11125Cloud Gate 8801Ice Storm 24068As I said, I don´t understand any of these results, if they're high or low...NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 video card benchmark result - Intel Core i5-4460 Processor,Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. B85M-D3H here you have results of an i5-4460 with a gtx 960. Your is about 700points lower but that is normal because there is a bottleneck with mcpie slot or expresscard.Your bottleneck is only 5-6% which is very good. I wrote that about bottleneck because I saw my GPU at 100% usage (in firestorm GPU monitoring utility - like MSI afterburner) when gaming, but I am changing my mind because when I overclock GTX 970 - it does not affect FPS in games. So this means one of 2:1) GTX 970 is actually not being used 100%2) CPU is the bottleneckI think it is the first one.As for N55SF - I have no idea. I have only tried my laptop and got lucky. Quilld 10 Posted May 24, 2015 I've bought the akitio thunderbolt enclosure 2 and managed to succesfully do a compaction without crashing windows like I did with the Sonnet enclosure, but I end up with the same result: the card is connected but not working. I had a new error code which was error 35. Here are the screenshoot:
Kurbeco 11 Posted May 24, 2015 Hi all. I'm considering building an e-GPU setup. I would want it to work with both of my laptops. One is an X220T (ExpressCard) and the other is a 2012 MBP 15" Retina (Thunderbolt 1).When I started looking, I found the Akitio Thunder 2 and thought that would suit the Mac side of things - but not the X220T. ExpressCard to Thunderbolt is an unknown to me, is that going to cause problems? What would you guys use for this setup?

Or it can be used as normal?Thank youJust use the newest driver. Disable 650M in device manager. You need to do this before installing the driver of eGPU or you will get an IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL error.I have tried using both dGPU and eGPU at the same time but getting an occasional shutdown so I decided to completely disable the dGPU. I think the laptop is having problem powering both GPUs.Btw, I'm using a GTX 750 Ti.

ExpressCard to Thunderbolt is an unknown to me, is that going to cause problems? What would you guys use for this setup? Two ways I can see you going here:1. Get a AKiTiO Thunder2 (10Gbps-TB1) for the MBA+ EC eGPU adapter (PE4C/EXP GDC) for the X220T.- either get two video cards and run them in each enclosure/adapter- use one video card and time-share across the two adapters:via a PCIe riser, attaching your and unplug from one adapter and plug into the other adapteror run your AKiTiO de-shelled and unplug the video card from one adapter/enclosure to the other.2. Get a EC eGPU adapter (PE4C/EXP GDC) for the X220T and use it on the MBA via a Sonnet TB-to-expresscard adapter (4Gbps+c-EC2)(1) gives better performance (2) gives easier connectivity. Kurbeco 11 Posted May 25, 2015 Thanks for the reply. With (2), how much would I be crippling the eGPU when using it on the MBP. I can see from raw bandwidth it looks like a lot (10Gbps vs 4Gbps), but is that going to make much difference for a mid-range GPU? I'd hoped to find expresscard-to-TB, but after searching.. doesn't seem to exist Both systems have 16GiB of RAM, is this going to cause an issue?
