Stevenxowens792
Benchmark On Battery Methodology: The purpose is to provide real benchmarks on battery. To certify accurate results I selected the power profile, performed a complete shutdown, removed power cord and booted completely up on battery. System: I7-2630QM, Nvidia 555mGT 1.5, 4GB Ram @1600, 60 + 64 GB SSD, LCD 1366x768 Native 1. Drivers: 275.33 WHQL Nvidia, Intel 10.2361 2. Nvidia Settings: Performance setting with AA/AF set to application controlled. Render ahead set to 0. Physx Set to Auto. 3. System Setting: a. Bios A01 b. Power profile - Gaming on Battery. Intel and GPU set to balanced. CPU set min and max to 80 percent (1.6ghz). c. Core parking enabled. d. LCD set to lowest setting. e. AlienFX off. First Up... 3DMark06 (you can see the cpu and gpu speed in the report) Free Version, Performance Default Settings Next Up... 3DMarkVantage (3dmarkVantage Free Version, Performance Settings) Last 3Dmark11 Freeware (performance settings) Afterthoughts... Make sure that you create a custom profile for gaming on battery as I have mentioned before. You don't have to disable turbo in bios but if you want to be 100 percent certain you are using your profile you can select the power profile, shut down and boot up on the battery power profile. To test you can use Throttlestop just to be safe. Graphics should be set to balanced for both Intel and Nvidia (dedicated GPU). HTWingNut
Thanks! Half of those only show the thumbnails but don't let you click on them and expand them.

HTWingNut
Thanks. And all that is on battery? Wow. Awesome.
Stevenxowens792
If the NBR Parrot crew see these they will probably cry BS, but as I have shown them before with video, if needed I can take my poor digital camera and make a video while the benchmark runs. You get about an hour gaming on battery with cpu at 1.60 . Also this is more powerful than the m11xR3 at max settings and it certainly wouldn't run that on battery for 2 hours. (im talking about the m11xr3 clocks set at max gpu oc and bclk 103.1)
Lancer91
I just got turned on to this site via searching. Those are great numbers on battery. I had no idea those were even possible. I need to check to see what bios i am running. Im not too familiar with all this but learning as I go. I like the m14x as its great for gaming and not too heavy. btw, What is NBR Parrot Crew? iloveb00bs
another awesome write up steven. keep it up bro, gaming on battery really tempting me to get an M14x man.
HTWingNut
LOL @ parrot crew. Those results look quite impressive. I believe it 110%, no need to post video. It's not like you're some random boob that decides to pop in and make some claims and disappear. Your info states BIOS A01. So A02 and A03 will not support this? Jimbo
@Lancer91 , he means the large number of people on NBR who repeat whatever BS they hear as gospel, then argue and get pissy when somebody disproves them. In this case, about the M14 not being able to game on battery.

Ninjahunter
Is there a reason you set frames rendered ahead to 0?
Stevenxowens792
Render ahead allows your cpu to Prepare the frames before processed by GPU. Sounds good in theory, however it causes lag in mouse and can cost you deaths in online FPS games. Setting to zero is usually your best bet. DaneGRClose
Nice job man, I am so tempted to go with an M14x especially since I'm starting to get bored with my R3. What kind of battery life do you squeeze out while actually running games on battery?
Ninjahunter
@Dane, with the A01 bios you get roughly an hour of solid gaming and with the A03 bious you are pushing almost 2 hours but there is a notable performance difference between the two.
