It's not going to be anytime soon, I would guess at 12 months +

Yeah, and while I'd love a heavily overclocked 990x I just don't need it. For my purposes it would only make a difference in benching, which would be a total waste.

Nice job, but you made me go look on ebay! Some of them are really cheap....

I think it's a powerful beast, but it's getting old, the power brick(s) are ridiculous, the keyboard isn't backlit and it gets basically no battery life. For all that, I still nearly bought one. As of now I'm set on M18X, I think it's superior in enough areas that matter to me, but It's still a hard decision.

And here I was thinking nothing those morons could do would surprise me any more.

That's cool man, you're the first person I know of who actually has a high end alienware desktop. I'm more of a custom build desktop guy, but I love some of the case features.

ROFL That's messed up, Kermit would disapprove.

Maybe it's included automatically? Can't imagine why they wouldn't offer a software upgrade. I'm curious to know what it does/how well it works also. Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Oh my god, you should warn people! I nearly suffocated to death from laughing, if that clip had been 30 seconds longer you'd be on the hook for murder.

I like rainmeter, I always forget to reinstall it when I do windows though. *wanders off to download rainmeter*

That is, without a doubt, the single ugliest production laptop I have ever seen.

+1 for MSE Ashtefere, I've heard AVG is good also, care to comment?

Unless I'm VERY mistaken, you must mean M18X R1 or it doesn't have dual cards....
-
At least for those with an m18x

I like the bright colours, no need for laptops to all be black. The orange one especially reminds me of the gameboy I had as a kid.

LOL @ calculator I assume you mean the razer naga etc? I think they're designed specifically for MMORPG addicts.

Good for Intel. I was wondering why PR was underlined in your post Michael, got quite a good laugh when I realised it was a helpful little explanation popup, check out what this one said - -
How to overclock Alienware M17x-R2 using SetFSB
Jimbo replied to Brian's topic in Alienware M17x / AW 17
Can't vouch for SDRAM but my DDR2 has been running at 2.2v for 6 months + Stock is 1.5 IIRC. -
OFFICIAL: Alienware M18x Order Status Thread
Jimbo replied to Brian's topic in Alienware M18x / AW 18
Question about specs - I'm ordering my avenger in the next couple of weeks, very excited! So much so that I can't decide what to get.... Background: I am in the process of upgrading my desktop to 2600K, 580's SLI, blah blah etc. I'm an obsessive overclocker/gamer, but I've never owned a gaming laptop before. With my rig at about 30kg (65 pounds) due to watercooling and far too many HDD's, this seemed like a good time. I've ruled out all single GPU versions as they can't do what I desire, which is everything maxed, all the time, on every game. So it came down to x7200 or M18, which the M18 handily won due to actually being portable and the warranty coverage overseas without needing to mail it back stateside. So, basically, I can't decide what spec to get. The money isn't the question, it's more are the upgrades actually worth it? Will they enhance my experience? Help out at resale time? Etc. To put it simply, I CAN afford all these upgrades, but SHOULD I (in your opinion). Thanks guys! Base spec I would order - Intel® Core™ i7 2720QM 2.2GHz (3.3GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache) Dual 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon™ HD 6970M - AMD CrossFireX™ Kingston HyperX 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz (2DIMM ...
