  1. Once you get the clevo gtx770m backup the firmware then flash the stock msi vbios for gtx770m. It will work then ootb
  2. Any half size WiFi card will work ootb. Looking into a killer ac WiFi card myself buy might just hold of and get a new msi gt72.. Then sell my old ms16f2.
  3. I use pk2 for CPU and pk3 for GPU and they are great thermal pastes.
  4. Sorry but you can only use a gtx670m gtx675mx or a gtx770m clevo based mxm cards. Gtx780m will not post regardless of what BIOS you flash. The laptop will do the same with a dead card too. The card is not compatible.
  5. Ouch. Its not only the resistor your missing your EPROM chip is cooked too. My guessing to the missing bit is voltage. I fear that your card has past on to computer heaven.
  6. Already have these downloaded and installed. No issues so far working like a dream for me on GTX770M!!
  7. Flash slv7's msi vbios that way no more driver mods needed and its at Max boost already. Sent from my TegraNote-P1640 using Tapatalk
  8. Sounds like a VGA brick for sure i take it only the vBios was flashed and not the main bios on the motherboard? If its a vBios flash gone wrong. Make a Dos Bootable USB stick with Nvflash for DOS and the rom file. Then make a autoexec.bat and in that file do a nvflash -4 -5 -6 vbios.rom (Rename the vbios rom file to vbios.rom makes life easier) make sure the vbios.rom and nvflash are in the same place power the laptop backup and boot off the USB stick then press y if you hear a Beep then give it about 2 minutes then reboot. Else if it was a mobo bios flash gone wrong i can't help you on that. Then when and if you get your laptop working i suggest before messing with anymore vbios flashings is to enable Remote Desktop on the laptop so when you go to flash next time and you get a blank screen as long as it boots into Windows you'd be safe as you can use another computer and the RDP to show windows booted ok or not.
  9. Right it seems Windows as you stated boots. So head over to http://forum.techinferno.com/clevo/4428-modified-clevo-7970m-vbios-pack-non-enduro.html and download the vbios from there this will allow the Display to show hopefully. Then head over to http://forum.techinferno.com/amd-video-cards/1738-%5Bguide%5D-amd-vbios-flashing.html#post21467 to read on how to flash a AMD card! Hope this helps! Just make sure you save the Original vBios before continuing so that you can recover the card if flashing fails.
  10. GTX675MX or GTX770M is the best way to go. Even a And 7970m is a good card but I found them to be fussy issue wise. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  11. You should be able to replace to GPUs thermal paste. It sounding like a heat issue Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  12. Have you used nvflash to verify that the GTX770m VGA card is working correctly or even gpu-z. If either of them pick the GPU up just flash the GTX770M slv7 msi bios and it will work without driver mods. Msi laptops sometimes requires a msi subvendor I'd in order to work. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  13. Not sure xonar would be the best on to ask. But it would be better to get another laptop as the 800 series nvidia cards are now out and paired with the haswells look very good at performing Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  14. I think xonar is right, best to sell it on Ebay and then use that money to get another Laptop. As its sounding like a Motherboard replacement is required.
  15. Never force a update even with a Bios or EC Firmware. If it complains that its not compatible it means just that, its not compatible. The reason i suggested to re-flash the EC firmware is just in case you have managed to corrupt it. I used to use the fan control tools by Pherein and even after a EC / NVRAM reset the fans still acted up so i used to then flash the EC Firmware which then corrected the issue. If you have no luck after do not give up have a word with Svet over at the MSI forums he might be able to help you as he is able to change the EC Firmware's Fan control table like he did on mine but i must stress he works on a Donation to work method. Hope this helps a little more. Also when you do get the BIos and EC firmware i find it best to flash EC then the Bios after without a reboot in between.
  16. The Performance between the GTX 570M and the GTX 770M are quite great. Have a look here GeForce GTX 770M vs 570M . I had a GTX 560M and upgraded to GTX 770M and the performance boost has been great. Also seems you have a GTX 570M you'll not need a new Heatsink so you only need the new card.
  17. Try resetting the EC by removing all power from the laptop completely thats Battery and Power Supply for 5 minutes. See if it goes back to normal if not i suggest you flash the EC Firmware for your laptop just incase. If that doesn't fix it you may of shorted something on the board that controls the fan.
  18. Any GPU after the GTX560M will need a new Heatsink if you had a GTX570M card in you'd been safe and could just get the card. A Clevo GTX 770M would be a good card to replace it with though
  19. What maker (i.e Clevo, MSI, Dell) is the card ? As for flashing it with the issue it has currently you'll going to need to find another Laptop that will accept the card and boot with it to flash it with a vbios that will work with the Clevo laptop as far as i am aware or find some that can reprogram the vbios with a eprom writer which will involve the bios on the GPU to be removed unless there is a clip made for it.
  20. Which are you wanting to flash, Bios (Motherboard) or vBios (Video Bios). If its the Video bios then its just a case of going to http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1847-nvidia-kepler-vbios-mods-overclocking-editions-modified-clocks-voltage-tweaks.html#post23432 and downloading the right vbios. Looking on the Chassis its MSI Whitebook based meaning that the Video card is removable. There is also a how to flash a Video bios guide on here too over here http://forum.techinferno.com/nvidia-video-cards/2166-%5Bguide%5D-nvidia-vbios-flashing.html. Give it a read. Flashing a Nvidia card is easy just remember to do it in DOS and not Windows! Also backup your current vbios before flashing a new one as that will safe your backside if you end up bricking your current Video card.
  21. If you have a look here. http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/4192-ms-16f2-w-gtx770m-need-vbios-please-help-7.html#post83659 Suoah states on Question 4 Yes it's the same Question 4 was asking about the HSF from a GTX570M would work on the GTX770M. I bought my HSF from a friend whom knows alot about MSI parts and stated it was for MS-16F2 and a GTX 770M. I would take a photo off the HSF but as the temps are pretty nice i really don't want to be ripping the back off and then having to repaste the GPU. I have a GTX560M HSF which is the same as the GTX460M and i can tell you that HSF wouldn't work on the GTX770M
  22. @Bailante Have you tried repairing Crysis 3 Install? I have no issues with Crysis 3 at all, If its crashing to Desktop on start i suggest you Install Geforce Experience and run that then select under the games section Custom Settings. Its a Spanner icon and drag the toggle right down. Then try loading the game again if it works after that just keep messing with the settings till you find the setting thats causing the issue.
  23. I take it you tried to Flash the bios in Windows? If so thats the mistake everyone makes. Its not the safest way of flashing. Now on MSI laptops you can try Dumping all the power out of the laptop. Thats removing the PSU and the Battery and holding the power button down for a while. Then using another PC format a USB Key with a FAT32 file system anything lower then 2GB USB should do. Download the latest Bios you can. Extract the Bios zip and locate the Bios file which is something like E1771IMS.70E Now place this file on the USB stick and also then rename the file on the USB stick to R.ROM. Place this USB into your laptop only plug back in the PSU leave Battery out!!!!! Press Power and then Spam CTRL + FN + Numpad 7 Give it about 30 minutes just incase and then Power Down the laptop and then power back up. If that doesn't work the BIOS is Bricked and will need to be sent off to MSI to reprogram the chip. For future reference always flash a Bios via a DOS Bootable USB Stick, never use Windows to flash a Bios or EC Firmware it will end in issues. If Dos is not available and its UEFI with a Shell then use UEFI to flash the bios.
  24. Full boost for all four cores means the 2.8GHZ speed i.e Full boost allowed on all four cores.
