Interesting, I use TeamViewer extensively as well, never had an issue, but then again I had 5870s and now 7970s... so with previous generation cards it could cause problems... Thanks for the heads up anyways and glad you sorted it out.

I don't have any alienware software installed at this moment either, I just installed Command Center once (it's been more than 2 years now), set lights' color and then I uninstalled the software. Touchpanel works, I just don't see any OSD icons popping up when I press them. That's fine with me as long as they are functional.

I would suggest reinstalling the Command center since it will reflash the firmware as well. Bios should be the latest one as well (A10), install this first in case you don't have it. That will leave only the GPU drivers as the culprit.

Sounds like a driver issue to me. Did you try a clean install?

Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> Right Click on the card -> Properties -> Details -> Property -> Hardware Ids check if you have that ID in the INF file, if not add it

Yeah it looks right. The 7970M + XM cpu OCed can draw lots of power, if the PSU is not able to provide that power, then it will crash. A smaller PSU won't prevent the GPU card from working properly, you just won't be able to push GPU and CPU to the max.

Really good then! It seems that they have done a really good job with the heatsinks. Mine throttles even at stock clocks, but I have 10C higher ambient...

@Riri-Fifi that's an awesome score! What are your ambient temps? Do you use some kind of external cooling?

I would add to step #5 an extra note saying that defragmentation is not recommended/required for systems with SSDs

I agree, for gaming, a better gpu like 7970M would make sense and wouldn't cost you that much, the CPU won't give you any real world performance unless you need it for specific applications that require it, or you need the newer chipset for the USB 3 or SATA 3, etc...
