Asus G750JZ-T4027D new owner seeking advice
TomJGX replied to ithanium2's topic in ASUS Gaming Notebook Forum
Repaste with MX-4.. For the CPU use the following method of having a line along the centre of the die(not near the edges). -
You would need to move the heatsink too as NVIDIA and AMD have different heatsinks.. Also reapply thermal paste and use new thermal pads.

Asus G750JZ-T4027D new owner seeking advice

You need to repaste..That's the issue.. -
I'm not too sure about the vBIOS flash but I would go to the notebookreview.com forum and ask anyone with the same Sager as u with the 8970M to dump their vBIOS with GPU-Z.. Go to their Sager forum and you should have someone who can do that.. Flash that vBIOS as it will be less likely that it will brick.

Fraps or NVIDIA shawdowplay is best when you have a NVIDIA GPU. -

I would be surprised if Rockstar repeated this farce again.... They have almost a year to port it so they better do a proper job...

I know this a bit old but I've found something that might be useful.. after much research, I found the Asus MX239H monitor.. Its well built and looks great and has 2 HDMI ports, VGA, DVI and best of all IMO, it has great speakers for a monitor. Its AH-IPs with 5ms response time but the overall input lag is 10ms which is the sae as that for Asus VX238H which was the TN monitor with 1ms response time.

You can try PMing him but I think you have soft bricked it... The only way might be to send the card to someone who has 18x R2 who can flash the proper vBIOS..

Serious problem with SLI and Power Brick!
TomJGX replied to bentouch's topic in Alienware M18x / AW 18
I think the most optimistic case would be the power brick is failing. I would try replacing it otherwise its the GPU or motherboard. -
I wouldn't suggest the Crucial drives.. They run really hot even though they're cheap. I would suggest either the Samsung 840 Evo mSATA ssd or this Crucial one which is of higher quality IMO.. Sandisk Enterprise SD6SF1M-128G-1022 128GB mSATA Internal SSD: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

+1000... This was one of the main reasons why I decided to get the M17x R4 instead of the new AW17.

1. I think the issue might be the your not installing the drivers properly.. Ok run AMD driver uninstall utility and uninstall everything and even the Intel drivers. Run Driver Sweeper + CC Cleaner and remove traces of AMD drivers and registry entries.. Install the stock drivers and then install the drivers from this link with switchable graphics fix. Modded Catalyst 14.6 RC2 (switchable graphics fix) - Guru3D.com Forums You can extract the newest Intel drivers after downloading them and select the inf when installing through the device manager and you should have eveything working and up to date. 2. Yes it will probably be the 780M..

TomJGX replied to dakwan's topic in ASUS Gaming Notebook Forum
I would bet my head that the motherboard or GPU is dead.. Its more likely to be the motherboard... -
AW17 / AW18 Memory overclock bios/XTU
TomJGX replied to 6zumlachen's topic in Alienware M17x / AW 17
You need to have an extreme CPU to OC memory I believe. If u have a 4800MQ, u can increase the multipliers by 400MHz. Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk -

Where can I get triple piped heat sink for Alienware 17?
TomJGX replied to 12ansan's topic in Alienware M17x / AW 17
There isn't one for the 17.. You can try modding the GPU heatsink and it seems it been done before on this forum. Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
