  2. Yes, but that noise is really bothering ME. Ha! Sent from my overpriced Galaxy S6 Edge +
  3. Yes, but it will be much quieter. [emoji1] Sent from my overpriced Galaxy S6 Edge +
  4. Water cool it! Sent from my overpriced Galaxy S6 Edge +
  5. New or New Old Stock will not fall in price. 980M on the used market did fall in price a bit. Then people found that there was no upgrade path to Pascal and the prices have remained pretty solid. Sent from my overpriced Galaxy S6 Edge +
  6. Holy smokes the forums are on fire today! I am not sure what I am looking at. Going to take a while to digest it all. Funny thing is I was playing on y M18x R2 with 680M SLI and thinking about Pascal. It does not look like it will get a 1080M upgrade, correct?
  7. It's anybody's guess as to what the 1070M will cost at launch. I got my last 970M at RJTech.com for $450.00 + $5.00 for the screws. Price has gone up to $460.00 http://rjtech.com/shop/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=30307 Be sure to get the screws. Sent from my overpriced Galaxy S6 Edge +
  8. You will have to modify the inf file regardless. Beware of the heat. Use good paste and monitor it closely.
  9. With my R2 I gained about 20-30 FPS in Mechwarrior Online by upgrading the CPU to a 3940XM over the 3720QM . I didn't overclock.
  10. Yep, I think it was quite silly of them to call this new card GTX980. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  11. Very cool! I have two of these I am playing with. Be careful with Win 10. It's bricking displays. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/862417/geforce-drivers/windows-10-geforce-drivers-are-killing-samsung-and-lg-notebook-lcd-display-panels/1/
  12. Looks like you are getting your machine tuned up. However, I would be cautious with Win 10. It is frying LCDs. Actually this combo is writing to the EDID with bad code, causing the screen to not function. The fix is not for the faint of heart. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/862417/geforce-drivers/windows-10-geforce-drivers-are-killing-samsung-and-lg-notebook-lcd-display-panels/1/
  13. I just removed the Blue Tooth Mini PCIe card and replaced it with a Mini PCIe to USB 2.0 adapter. I installed my mouse dongle in there. I like not having to unplug and store it. This isn't a new trick, but first time for me.
  14. I recently bought two of these laptops from ebay, both with GT 240M. One was in decent shape, no hard drive, dead battery, and a 1600 x 900 screen (didn't know about the screen resolution until after). The other had a hard drive, 1080 screen, dead battery, trouble booting. I have determined that the motherboard is bad. I have a used one on the way from China. I found that replacing the i7 620M with a 920XM makes a HUGE difference. I was getting 15 fps in CS:GO on the lowest settings at 1600 x 900. Now I get 35+ fps on the highest settings. I already had a Viking 128GB SSD laying around. Even that relatively crappy SSD makes the machine very snappy. Thanks for your update! 15. The R1 around run 980M due to not having UEFI support. You are correct on that. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
