Thank you. It wasn't easy to find it in Europe and also they are expensive (it will last me like the 680M wich is good). I'm going for a 1440P monitor as 4K won't last long with the 980m. I'm looking for a good monitor with that resolution.

Already bought it in Nexoc for 846€ shipment included from Germany. A bit cheaper than the other ones I found. Which monitor do you recomend to use with the 980M?

Will I have enouth with the PSU I have with 220W for the 3740QM and GTX 980M? The mobile GPUs still dont support Adaptive Sync? I wanted to buy a GSYNC monitor.

Im going to buy a monitor for the laptop. The laptop is 1080p but with the new graphic card i want to get a good one 1080p ir 2K or 4K with Gsync. Recomend me one please if u can. I play all diferent kind of games buy specially RPG like Dragon Age, Skyrim modded...etc. I rather just put the settings to the max and not having to cut settings as i have to now. Not easy to buy the 980m in europe. Only found one store in EBay... Any help with this?

Thank you so much. It's hard to decide when the 970m cost much less...but what an amazing card the 980M. I'm impressed. Last two questions : 1) Do you know if my cpu 3740QM will be enouth for the 980M? 2) Can I overclock with the power adaptor that comes with the P170EM? 3) Should I get a 1080p monitor or a 2K/4K with Gsync for the 980M? Native resolution is always best and maybe 2K/4K is too much for the 980m.

Thank you for the links. Yeah definitely the 980m is much better. I just cannot find a direct comparison cause the 680m is a few generations behind. It's 800€ care but might worth as laptops with the 980m are around 2000€.

I tried to contact them without luck...no email in return. Don't buy the card on Ebay! You might get a brick instead. Let me know if you get a response from Clevocenter.

Thermal paste will work much better. AC diamond-7 does work great for me!

I will repaste the GPU before doing anything else. Clean the fans to get more airflow. Maybe the Temps are too high and the cooling system doesn't work.

Yeah flash the better BIOS and if the Temps are still that high (93°C is a lot) you could always repaste or even take out the lower part of the case for more airflow.

You should install windows from scratch with the new 980M. It might solve your problem.

Hi. I'm looking into this card for my P170EM. It's 800€ for the card so it's something to consider. My cpu is the 3740QM and I hope it will give enouth juice for the 980m. Te rest of specs is SSD SAMSUNG 840 PRO, 16GB RAM, WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM, GTX 680M OVERCLOCKED 925MH CORE. Should I wait a bit and buy a whole new system when Windows 10 (directx 12) and new SSD Nvme 2.M arrive or it worth to upgrade? Thank you

Hi. I have been reading about changing the Memory voltage of the Clevo 680M and it looks its only not possible with any software. Is it for sure not possible?? Im with the modded bios of rthe 680M but the memory is taking me back . Thank you

Im planning to put the Clevo 680M bios with 1050 voltage. The temps are not a problem as i have the laptop fully modded. I get 950mhz core at stock voltage. How much can i get aprox with the voltage??

It sees to be more a problem of drivers than a default card as you have it ovecloked nicely. You can try to underclock a little or to default and see?? Maybe the frequencies are a bit too much. Use omega drivers but not beta as they can he problems

I woud go for the bigger one. Just for a little bit more you re safe fo the next years. Im sure you will want to install more things in the future right?? Go for a safe brand as it will free you for some headaches and data loss...i talk for my experience...

The temps are pretty good with overclock. If you mod and tweak your laptop you will get much more from it. Check the moded versions of Clevo. I just did a couple days ago ad reduced my temps a lot...around 15º... With a lot of overclocking!

This is a bit too specific about programs, but better to explain what kind of programs?? I use a clevo p170em which os a bit old, but with the 680M 4GB of vram overclocked to 950mhz i have enough for some time. It packs 16GB of ram too. The good thing of clevo is their price and easy to open amd tweak inside... i just did some tricks founded here and my temps wwnt down 16 degrees. Have a look on them. Specially with mate screen.

Maybe getting a bigger PSU will help...who knows.... maybe your gp was not one of the lucky ones... i get 970mhz stable with stock vbios. i might try tomorrow the 1025 vbios and see....

This is great!! I use the Tape in the spaces of heatsinks, put ic7 diamond and made two circles for the fans of the cpu and gpu....gpu went from 89º to 75º at 950mhz core in gpu...impresive! stock vbios....migh get the 1025v oc....

Installed the last Bios for p170em and runs great. The only thing is that i cant restart the laptop. It shuts down... like turning off. Maybe i have to look into settings. Thank you Prema!!
