  2. So laptopmonkey hooked us up with a sweet deal for a pair of 2920xm QS chips, one for me and one for @Michael. We plan to run some gaming benchmarks with 6970M Xfire/6990M Xfire vs 580M SLi with all 3 using 2920xm CPUs so this will be a follow-up to our original M18x review! T|I will hopefully develop a positive working relationship with Laptop Monkey for future tests and promotions as well! Keep an eye out on our forum and website for further news. Talk about a lot of tape! Laptop Monkey's cool packaging 2920xm QS in perfect condition and 2 free calculators! Laptop Monkey branded calculators and a core i7 sticker!

  3. Sup guys? I'm currently in the mountains, skiing and stuff, here some pics from yesterday: Sorry, had to lower the quality a bit, internet connection sucks here, takes forever to upload a couple of MB, and I can't even connect to a BF3 server XD What's with you guys, any of you go skiing / snowboarding once in a while?

  4. The Corsair AX850 powers one MarsII Overkill I decided so, because if I push my MarsII to its limits in the future (higher voltage, higher clockspeed,...), it easily will reach ~900W powerconsumption. So my calculation is 300-400W for CPU, and double 900W for graphics.

  8. Actually now you mention the antivirus software you use it is VERY likely that McAfee is set in a option you will need to find to read disk drive for viruses too I suggest you make sure there is no such option on deep within its configuration because that would certainly cause unnecessary reads on the optical drive I have used a few other virus software's that do this too like Nod32 and many more. It may not be but it's worth looking into. almost every savvy security and virus expert says never use Mcafee... I had it on a system it came with and it caused bsods and even widespread bsods one year from a single McAfee update rendered many users non bootable. I as do probably most here recommend another software Microsoft Security Essentials is free and works great. If you need more advanced try Panda Antivirus. I hope you resolve this issue otherwise asap contact Acer for resolution to this matter as this is not likely to go away if it's not software related. Call em out on their dodgy hardware.
