GT70 610US graphics card

good morning, I am running a 3 yr old GT70 610US, with i7 and a Gt680m graphics card, I was looking to replace the graphics card and was wondering what options I have. I read that I could upgrade to the 880m pretty easily, is this true ? What do I need to look out for etc ? All thoughts appreciated

You can upgrade to GTX 78M/GTX880M/GTX970M/GTX980M

For GTX 970M/GTX980M you need another Heatsink or you modify yor own Heatsink.

Is not so much Work.

Maybe you need the last Bios and EC Firmware that the Card works stabil.

thank you, is the upgrade modifications the same between GTX970M/GTX980M ? Also is the 980M option worth ? $650 vs $950 here in Canada

The GTX 980M works with all old Chipsets(MS-16F1-MS-16F4/MS-1761-MS-1763)

The Poweradapter bottleneck,the GTX 980M needs to much Power.

GTX 970M is the better Choise,only little Throttling.
