GS60 970m 3gb vbios unlock?

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a download or a source for my card's unlocked vbios? I'm having trouble finding a link.

Is it safer to get prema mod (is it even compatible?) or pay Svet?

I can't afford the new laptops with the new GPUs :(  so I'd like to overclock my GPU (im fully aware of the risks).

Also can the CPU be overclocked at all? 6700HQ. My CPU temps never go over 75C under load.

How can I find it? I tried saving my gpu bios through gpuz onto a file and it says "BIOS reading not supported"

BIOS version is 84.04.85.00.33

I think that you can try dump your vbios  with Nvflash.

I just tried "nvflash --save vbios.rom" and I get this:

NVIDIA Firmware Update Utility (Version 5.218)
Simplified Version For OEM Only

ERROR: No NVIDIA display adapters found

Am I doing it wrong?

Run GPU-Z (don't close it), then run Nvflash and dump your vBIOS.

I think u need to use newer version of nvflash where your card is visible.

I made sure to be using the latest GPU-Z and NVflash. I'm running cmd with admin rights, running the 64bit version of nvflash. I use the command nvflash64 --save vbios name.rom and I get this:

nvflash64 --save vbiosjambalaya.rom

NVIDIA Firmware Update Utility (Version 5.328.0)
Simplified Version For OEM Only

Adapter: GeForce GTX 970M     (10DE,13D8,1462,1158) H:--:NRM S:00,B:01,D:00,F:00

Ok.

1. Completely uninstall MSI Afterburner with all settings. Reboot laptop.

2. Completely uninstall EVGA Precision X with all settings. Reboot laptop.

3. Download the program DDU (NVIDIA drivers uninstaller), run it and completely uninstall all NVIDIA drivers.

4. Go in bios setup menu and on the last page "Save and Exit" set "Default Settings", then F10, then Enter.

5. Don't install any NVIDIA  drivers. Just run next step. Without any NVIDIA drivers.

6. Download this archive:  http://www108.zippyshare.com/v/xSf7NFff/file.html

Unzip it directly on the Desktop. Open NVFLASH folder and run (double click mouse) the command file "backup.bat"

Hi @Klem!

I'm in the same situation, like the guys before me :'D

I have a GT72S 6QD, with 970m 3gb, and I was wondering if you could help me with unlocking my vBios.

I like my laptop, it's nice, solid and cool (i mean, my GPU never runs warmer than 68 celsius), and it would be nice, if I could overclock it a littlebit, to get the most out of it.
I hope you can help me, that would be fantastic!

Best wishes, and many thanks; Mark :)

Hi, i'm here for the same thing as the other, could you help me @Klem i'm looking for a modded bios:

- enabling Overclock higher than 135MHz

- undervolt @ stock (0.937v @ stock speed)

- overvolt

- rising max power slider to 95w at max (not default)

- rising memory frequency at P1 (performance level 2) to the stock value (dividing memory by 2 on battery is a joke)

here is a link of my original GTX 970M 3Gb (from a GS60-6QE Ghost Pro)

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3QMSCSYw7wmQ1hwY3RCekRxcU0

i know it's quiet precise but absolutely needed for hardware longevity and performances in case when i need it

thank you by advance, if you don't want to do something like this and MBTv2 is enought i so just need to know how to flash it as nvflash tell me to go back home and playing with legos (first time nvflash telling me that there is no compatible adapter)

Hello @Klem,

Would you unlock the vBIOS of my MSI GS60 6QE (GTX970m 6Gb RAM).

I have extracted the BIOS using GPU-Z. The ROM file is attached below.

Thank you!
