  1. Can the dell boot with no video card installed (because of optimus support ?)? if the gt663r reacts the same as the gt683 then it would boot straight to windows without a video card installed albeit without video(obviously)
  2. I have a heatsink on just left enough slack to be able to pull the wire off though the corner where the chip is located is not blocked edit : if the pictures on the web are correct your card is underneath the keyboard right next to the memory slots and if your using a dell 7970 card the bios chip would be right next to the memory slots thus exposed when the keyboard is removed
  3. Yeah but it would not post with the card's original vbios so it actually gave symptoms of a doa/brick card it should technically have work otb if the bios is set to legacy I was thinking it could work for you since it allowed me to debrick a gt220 and it worked with a mobile 7970 (that wont post)
  4. its still a blindflash ,yeah prevents the card from initializing and freezing boot in the process ,the screen after it was flashed (bat file was set to reboot after flashing so I get a 98 shutdown screen) The card first boot was a dud (i was getting worried that it may be a dud (or the laptop has a dead pcie slot )or i killed it somehow since i don't have any access to an aw system to test it with )
  5. I think you could do it in the dell unless the vga card is not easily accessible or is broken ?
  6. im not quite sure if this will help you guys but on a gt683 (video card died with bios set to uefi) where a 7970m(says .....015.022 on a sticker on card and rev A00 on esd bag) wont post got it to work by bridging the cs pin and gnd pin on the bios chip of the card turning the laptop on and removing the bridge before flashing (used an autoexec bat file with 015.017 vbios) P.S i think this will also work for debricking desktop amd cards (since it works for a 7970m and i debricked a gt220 that got flashed with a gt240 rom this way)
  7. any chance having this on the w110er ?</dict>
  8. seems to be working see here :http://forum.techinferno.com/alienware-m15x/2344-m15x-confirmed-working-windows-8-a.html
  9. is that after applying the dsdt ?you probably have a different config with the poster maybe different bios version?
  10. No graphics acceleration though not much useful. - - - Updated - - - did you try booting with -s and -x flags ?- - - Updated - - - yes it would likely would as long as you have the right version installed but you need to experiment with strings .
  11. the service manual includes a list of drives that will fit like the panasonic uj260 bd burner
  12. first check your bios and ec version if they match the one that the mod uses and if it newer than the base the mod uses dont flash and upload the rom instead if all is well then create a bootable dos usb and copy the appropriate files for your model and boot from it (i think you need you need to disable uefi boot) then execute the appropriate .bat file for your system
  13. only the e5-24xx and above series have mp support and its prerequisite 2x qpi minimum though the i7 would boot in the board in uniproc mode
  14. currently only the Fatal1ty H87 Performance (atx) has oc function i'd wait a bit to see an announcement which motherboards will get the bios updates though the 16 pcie 3.0 lanes from the cpu cant be shared/split (z87 exclusive) so not so suitable for multi-gpu applications. i think the cx600 is cheaper because it is not modular and not 80 plus certified as for the the single/multi rail debacle i think it just boils down to how well the whole psu is built ;the multi rail feature from what i read is an additional safety feature that allows the psu to trip at a lower current and earlier compared to a single rail though if something went wrong inside the pc that would suddenly trip the rail should have been caught by the short circuit protection circuitry in a good quality psu anyways and In some rare applications though a single rail design may be favorable since it can distribute the power more evenly .
  15. That lies within the vbios which is seperate from the system bios on a mxm machine so its doesnt affect the oc ability of the gpu ...unless there are locks in the main bios that prohibits alteration of gpu clocks which i dont know if such a thing does exist or if it could exist
  16. you have to use a small screwdriver to push the top cover/switch board from the underside of the pc (thru a spot located beside the gpu fan below the first gpu heatpipe and left of the mxm slot ) then remove the screws holding the keyboard in place after which you lift the keyboard up gently and disconnect the flex cable better refer page 37 of the p150em service manual available here :http://forum.techinferno.com/clevo-sager/3837-clevo-service-manuals.html
  17. add some voltage ? read a review for your mobo and their processor required 1.425v to reach 4.9 ghz with a multi of 49 though anything above 4.4 ghz is a matter of luck with binning i guess though their voltage seem to be a little bit too high imo.
  18. for ami based pcs the command is /o after the filename using afuwin.exe(executed via cmd w/ admin privileges) though i think it's the same for afudos (correct me i'm wrong) for other bioses their appropriate bios flashers give out a format and complete list of commands
  19. you need three more posts and an hour or so to be able to gain access to downloadables
  20. try flashing the ms-1762 bios that can be found here :http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/1839-msi-g-series-unlocked-bios.html
  21. But isnt csm a bios emu on top of uefi ?
