  1. Yes ist my own mod, but it needs a lot of dremel work to the chassis. I made it before i get the red R4.
  2. Is your bios still in uefi mode? Is the drive shown in bios when you switch back to legacy?
  3. Have you noticed that you're talking about the GTX 980 (Laptop) and not about the GTX 980M? The GTX 980 (Laptop) has an extra power connector and needs some work to the bottom base like the GTX 1070. The GTX 980M has no extra power connector and fits without any work to the bottom base like the GTX 1060. They are both nearly plug and play and the GTX 980M is on place 39 on notebookcheck.
  4. You need a full UEFI installation , make the hardware-mod to the bottom base (see the pictures here) and maybe a hardware-mod to the heatsink to make the card suitable. Then you just need a driver mod and thats it.
  5. Have a look here, Telekom hilft Community, it's much more competent than the hotline.
  6. Hello, is your speedport firmware up to date? Have you tried to ask in the "Telekom hilft Forum"?
  7. The behavior with the AC Adapter i had one time. In my case it was a broken dedicated graphics card. Did you buy the Laptop new without dedicated graphics card?
  8. Here you'll find instructions to mod driver .inf files. https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/4055-guide-modding-nvidia-oem-inf-files/ Or you can try this one. https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/10990-alienware-clevo-msi-aftermarket-upgrades-driver-support-modded-inf/&page=65
  9. It's like Ripsaw said. You need a 120Hz (3D) display not because of the refresh rate. "Normal" 60Hz Displays in the M17x R4 have a LVDS connector and you need a eDP connector to get a Pascal card running and that connector is only in the 120Hz (3D) display.
  10. Both of your eBay links are roundabout 600 euros and the 980M i found are roundabout 800 euros.
  11. As I have already written above, a 60Hz display will not work with a GTX 1060. The GTX 1060 costs about 180 to 200 euros less than the GTX 980M and you can get a 120Hz display for about 140-150 euros: http://www.ebay.de/itm/162380820165?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT So both options cost you nearly the same. Installation and driver mod is the same for both.
  12. OK, M17x R2 and GTX 860M. You definitely need a modded driver. During the system check the driver looks for the combination of your system-id and the graphiccard-id and then searches for the combination in the .inf files. Cause Dell never sold this combination he will not find it and tells you that's no compatible Hardware found.
  13. What laptop do you have. I think you need a modded driver.
  14. Just start the .exe file, it will extract itselves to c:\nvidia. After that you get a message that there is no compatible hardware found and you can abort. Then mod the .inf file and install the driver.
  15. Maybe the adapter is the problem. Can you test it anywhere else?
  16. Hello, is there a samsung 960 evo ssd nvme with msata? The M18x R2 has no M.2 slot, which slot did you use?
  17. I have used this guide and there is no "end" button to press. So i'm not sure what guide you use.
  18. They can be be replies. Quality Posts means "Thanks", "Nice Job", "Cool" and so on will not Count to be promoted.
  19. The GTX 1060 runs perfect with my 120Hz Display, i have only tried wether it will also work with a 60Hz Display.
  20. The M15x is never sold with GTX 770M, so the driver will tell you that there is no compatible hardware found. You have to mod the .inf like described here https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/4055-guide-modding-nvidia-oem-inf-files/
