  1. Usually you do not need a modified bios in the R4. Just disabled driver signature enforcement and a modified INF.
  2. It's not the same. 880M has a GK-104 Chip (Kepler) and 980M has a GM-204 Chip (Maxwell).
  3. Look here https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/files/file/68-uefi-fast-boot-secure-boot-gpu/

  5. I just tried downloading M17X R4 & M18X R2 (Windows 8.1).zip and it worked.
  6. You'll need a 120Hz Display (that you dont have) and modded drivers. There's also some work to the chassis needed to get enough space to make the card fit.

  8. Have you tried a different cable to the display? Or are you sure thats a fault on the motherboard?
  9. Did you read this? https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/announcement/4-user-account-promotion-rules-read-before-posting/ It needs a short time to get all what you want.
  10. It's like Adraesh said, with full uefi Windows 10 Installation you can use the original A13 bios. 120Hz Display is needed for the 1060/1070 (1070 needs a lot work to the Chassis), 980M will work with 60Hz Display. Driver mod is always needed if you go higher than 680M.
  11. You can use the original A13 bios with full uefi Windows 10 Installation. If you get a 980M with X-bracket included then you need new screws, because they are smaller than your original screws.
  12. 1070 is possible with a lot of work to the Chassis, you need a 120Hz Display and you can use the original A13 Bios. For 1080 i'm not sure if there's one that fits in the Chassis and i think you need a extra power connector for the card.
  13. Right, stock bios means official bios without any modification. To install a 980M it doesnt matter what type of display you have. The 120Hz Display is only needed to install a 1060 or higher.
  14. I had a 980M with stock A13 and have a 1060 at the moment with stock A13. Both installed with Windows 10 and no problems. So i think there is no need for a unlockes bios to swap the gpu.
  15. The GTX 680M is a official card for the M17x R4. So there is no need for a unlocked bios or modified drivers. Its just plug and play.
  16. Are you shure that the games are running with the GTX and not with Intel graphics?
  17. You can give it a try, but to be sure that all fits perfect i recommend to use a Nvidia heatsink.
  18. If you switch from ATI to Nvidia 980M you also need a Nvidia 100W heatsink.
