  1. Yeah, and the num pad can come in handy as well, but the pixel density of the 15.6 inch screen is great
  2. Yes indeed, it's a great place to live (except for the AW prices, hahaha, they really suck!).
  3. Hahaha, do you know about DDoS? This happens when all the guys who ordered a M18x hit "F5" all couple of minutes
  4. They're coming over here for a gig in September... I've seen them already during the "Unholy Alliance Tour Part 2" with Slayer
  5. If it doesn't work you can use the Mobility Mod from here, this should work fine.
  6. This one is a youtube classic... but if you don't know it already then it's a must see
  7. This is so great!! HAHAHAHAHA lol!!!
  8. Thanks for the pics, the embed sliedshow doesn't show up but the link to the album works. Like StamatisX said, a towel is not the best place for a mobo...
  9. Lol, that's so 2007/08 Didn't think I would ever get rickrolled here hahahahaha Btw... great moments in trolling.
  10. Alice in Chains - Rain when I die http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTqgWVVPa14
  11. How to replace the Windows 7 logon screen with a custom image: As alternative to the background changer program... here's how you can do it manually: - Put the picture you want to use in here: C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds The name of the picture must be BackgroundDefault.jpg - Open the registry editor (run, "regedit", enter) - Navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background - Change the value of the "OEMBackground" entry to "1" (without the quotes). In case there's no such entry create a new DWORD with this name by right clicking inside the Background folder. NOTE: The picture must be a .jpg and the size must be less than 256KB. The resolution doesn't matter as far as I know, Windows will automatically make the picture fit... but of course having the picture in the native display resolution will give you the best results.
  12. Nice summary guys! Once you have installed your SSD and the OS you can do some minor tweaks which will give you back some valueable SSD space. For example disabling hibernation... there was another easy tweak which gives you back some space but I can't remember atm.
  13. Well yes, hahaha, I know. It's basically a smaller r3 with an older CPU.
  14. 11.5 seems to give a bit higher scores... did some late night benching yesterday: 3dMark11: And vantage: I'm getting to M17x r3 levels, hehehehe.
  15. Yeah, the warranty is a big plus for AW. (The design as well imo, but that's a matter of taste). The plus for Clevo systems is that they usually always have the latest high-end tech (GPUs, CPUs...) and huge overkills (desktop CPUs )
  16. No, can't be... I don't think they use a different mobo, I guess they also use Clevo GPUs... Fully customizable doesn't mean it's not a Clevo. Afaik they only add some extras like painting, overclock... Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.
  17. Wow, indeed... now this paired with AW design/lightshow and Dell NBD service... that would be great!! Well, I'm not going to buy a new system in the near future anyway. Soonest big update will probably be next summer.
  18. Really impressive...!! I never had my hands on a Clevo machine, I wonder how they feel... build quality etc. I really like the feeling of the M15x... too bad they didn't update the machine with SB. What I'm missing are some 15-15.6 inches machines with SB and a high-end GPU. As long as the manufacturers don't use two HDDs it's possible to bring the size a bit down.
  19. @Brian: Nice SSD, I think you're gonna like it!! Are you planning on doing a RAMdisk on half of the RAM (for the pagefile or so)? In case you do let us know, I'm curious whether it's worth the money... That would about the last thing I could upgrade in my M15x @wbabt007: If you have a SSD in your system you probably don't want to copy the recovery partition from the HDD to the SSD... it only uses a lot of (valuable) space. I'd recommend a fresh install of Windows, you could change the cluster size (can help to speed up the system a bit, though I'm not sure whether it's noticeable... I actually wanted to test this when I reinstalled, but I completely forgot, lol).
  20. Vinnie Moore - Check it out. well, nothing to add... check it out, especially if you like some crazy guitar stuff
  21. HAHAHAHA, death star canteen... one of my favorite clips on youtube "I'll take the penne a la arrabiata!!" roflmao Check out these two if you don't know them... same comedian as in the death star canteen video:
  22. The Rev did some benching and got a new highscore in 3dM11, about 30 pts more if I remember correctly. I haven't found time for benching yet.
  23. Yeah, I tried some pads from Phobya, but I didn't like them... they're too hard, the heatsink can't really press them together.
  24. I'd take the 300 GB, I have one myself... it performs great, and 50 GB more SSD space is always useful $350 for 300GB is fantastic imo.
