not necessarily... your oced 4930k already easily exceeds 150w i bet. but could be that a 4960x is higher quality silicon from the center of the wafer being able to clock higher at lower voltage and thus give off less heat... but in the end its always that chip lottery i guess u might be quite lucky with that cpu of urs already

so keep ur monster and get urself an additional w230ss or something similar for "tucking away"

maybe one of your cards is on the fritz or about to be? try and stress test each card individually to make sure both are fine

yeah i know what u mean. i did some mesh cover mods on the backplate of a previous machine but i dont like how it usually hampers the looks and overall stability of the backplate or even the whole laptop. add to that the larger dust buildup... so for my taste the propping up is a good compromise actually
