@dalan if you get a 240w psu with your new m17x, let us know if it still has the power indicator ring. I tape mine off with electrical tape although if they left it, it'd be wonderful if somehow it supported matching the color from some part of AlienFX. I couldn't stand the mismash when using non blues/purples. And honestly sometimes all the extra leds gets a bit bothersome when I can't shut them off.

yes the dell vbios will work on the clevo card. while the dell rom's are larger, its empty padding bytes - info from @svl7. And I myself have used both Clevo and Dell vbios on the Clevo 7970m When you flash a different vendor, you'll get a mismatched ssid and will need to force the flash with -f. You should also create a backup of your original vbios for safe keeping.

can someone post up Clevo EM bios with Enduro and the Dell v21 vbios? I can't seem to find those 2 on quick order and would like to mess with them tonight. Thanks in advance!

I've been trying out the Clevo vs. Dell bios on my Clevo card in the m15x to see if I could get automated fan controls - no luck, still need hwinfo64. Will try both vbios' on a few different monitors and tvs later this week for displayport. I'm using a aftermarket Siig DP->HDMI btw

unless something has changed, you'll need to use hwinfo to control the fan speeds with the clevo 7970m in the m15x. the dell 7970m has automatic fan control working

Hm, looks fine to me for modulation and no throttling although for 8 threads I believe the wPrime score should be considerablly better. Like x24 ~309seconds Going to standby and see what the more informed posters thoughts are though. edit: my bad, thought TS bench used wPrime doh.

Check gpu fan speeds when over 71 or 75c. Override with hwinfo64 to 5000rpm and recheck temps. If still high, repaste Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2

Hi kack, im on windows 8. I haven't had any severe performance issues although I haven't played the same games on 8 as I did Win7. Although now im curious and need to install a bench and see how it does, self doubt lol Update: performance as good as Win7. Ended up with 0.975v vbios and cutting my xm oc.
