  1. Just for clarification, yes Path of Exile is "Free to Play," but it's not "pay to win." Most of it's micro transactions are cosmetic (for example glowing weapons/armour, or an elemental effect on your sword) and the only thing that isn't cosmetic is increased storage for you stash (basically the "bank" that all character on your account can access). Even without that purchase you should be fine for quite awhile, as the stash has four fairly large sections. The only gripe I have with PoE is that it's online only. However considering what you're getting for free I can look past that (unlike with Diablo III).
  2. Does anyone have it for their y400/410p/500/510p? I'm curious to see how it would look.
  3. Are there any refurbished Alienwares with a single (non SLI) GPU for around the same price? I'd rather go for an Alienware 17 with 780m/8970m for around the same price, unless you absolutely want the option for SLI/Xfire later.
  4. Does anyone know the smallest laptop with a high end gpu (680m, 780m, 7970m, 8970m)? If the smallest is a 17" notebook is that because a sub 17" would be inadequate for cooling? Or is it simply not large enough to accommodate the GPU? Thoughts.
  5. Hey guys LanceAvion, here. I'm pretty much known as LanceAvion across the interwebs so if you've seen or know LanceAvion from any other site, such as NBR, chances are its me.
  6. Are you into RPGs? If so I'd try the Elder Scroll series, specifically Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. All three can be modded to kingdom come and as such are pretty much immortal (Morrowind has an active community 11 years after release). In addition there is Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, which are made by the same company as the Elder Scrolls series and as such can also be modded to a starling degree. Even without mods however, all of them can last you well over 100 hours without the expansions. What about multiplayer games? If you like FPS then I implore you to download Planetside 2 if you haven't already. It's free to play, but has the most massive battles of any FPS in existence. Make sure you get so friends to join you, as it's not the best experience solo. Then there's Chivalry Medieval Warfare (and Deadliest Warrior) along side War of the Roses (and War of the Vikings). Both series are entirely different beasts in terms of play style, but they are both extremely enjoyable arena style games. They have no single player to speak of, save their respective tutorials, so initially prepare yourself to be killed, a lot haha.
  7. I own both the Witcher and the Witcher 2, but I haven't gotten around to playing them yet. At this point I'll probably wait for the Witcher 3's release and play them back to back haha
  8. If there's an option to, I always limit my fps to 60. It keeps the strain on my gpu as low as possible and my laptop's display don't support an fps over 60 regardless.
  9. Here is the official caddy: Y500 Removable HDD F451 | Lenovo | (US) I believe it comes with a 750GB HDD, so if you call and tell them you don't want the HDD, perhaps you can get a significant price cut. Oh, and login via the Barnes and Noble link for an upfront savings. https://shop.lenovo.com/barnesnoblegold/us/en/laptops/
  10. Has anyone successfully installed a y410 screen (1600x900) into a y400? Or even better is there a high quality 1080p screen that can be installed in either?
  11. You could try contacting XoticPC. They have a carbon fiber wrap that's offered on pretty much all the laptops they sell, and they take requests for laptops that they don't sell. Custom Laptops, Gaming Notebooks, Custom Gaming Laptops | XOTIC PC
  12. I'm having the exact same issues on my y400 (with 650m ultrabay). I wonder if this is the same problem......
  13. Does anyone have one of these? MZMTE512HMHP-00000 - Samsung PM851 512GB mSata Internal SSD That's the highest capacity mSATA I could find, so I want to see how it performs in the y4XX/5XX series.
