santa ups just arrived with festive greetings the busy elves at eurocom grotto been busy again back with results in an hour 2x 980m upgrade kits.

Managed 1342 using bios to clock... is there vcore vccd strap etc in any of you bios updates or a machine limitation?

Did u change ur timings in bios xtu or alternative software btw?

When i plugged them in they default to 1866cl11 im gutted multipliers capped at 2133 would have been jnteresting to trh for 2400 as she seems a pretty strong chip... i can run 11-11-11-27 just got in bed now though scouring the net for any and all 570wm overclocking info i can find as i cant see the strap setting vcore or vcc in bios...

hmm managed too eek out another 10 points 1282 by tightening my ram timmings down from CL11-13-12@2133 >>> CL10-12-11@2133 ram kingston hyperX-impact 4x4gb modules (QUAD channel.) Any advise from this point on would be wicked id love to break 1300 points before i sell the old girl

i still have a long way to go until i understand exactly how to get the most from a clevo and intel cpu but im reasonably happy with where im at so far.. XTU - louis1978uk - Core i7 4930K 4500mhz 24/7 reliable and not hot ram 2133 quad channel cl11-13-12 any advise or tips are warmly welcome i would love to push 4600mhz but frankly i think thats a bit of a big ask from this machine and into the realms of water... - - - Updated - - - hmm got 2 cores at 4600mhz 4500 remaining 4 cores and the fans were going full tilt the back was getting a little serious . . . max score 1272 now after backing the clocks down to 4300mhz hmm interesting playing with timing window for turbo now as it seems to have a larger effect than pure mhz...

did u get moddified inf drivers from laptopvideo2go.com,if you didnt thats almost guarenteed the issue.As the x7200 doesnt officially support the gtx780m u have to fudge the driver into thinking there compatable,its a 2 min job. also break out ur wallet and grovel see if its possible and prema's willing to fix ur system bios so the cards recognised though that in its self wont stop it working alone.

tracking ups post from canada i'll have 2 new 980m's 2 new heatsinks 2 new fans 1 new sli bridge fitted within 24 hours ill post photos screen shots here. And... some bench runs on windows 7+8.1... any request place them here and ill see what i can do. im not even remotely worried about wattage and temps i can max ov and o/c 780m well beyond what a 980m is marked up to drag so should be golden,i get 84 degrees after several hours of hammering sli 1200/3050 nvinspector so plenty of headroom...

not to mention my board only has the solder points and no socket for the epd cable >< /sadpanda.

ps. i have the ultra glossy screen in mine sadly my motherboard cant support the 120hz screen so i just overclocked my hanns panel and was lucky enough to hit a stable 110hz but i run at 80hz make a large differance couldnt be happier and saved me $90.00+shipping and import duty... Hi there as per my sig i hav a clevo p570wm aka eurocom panther 5 its very easy it somewhat large and heavy mother to work on but it's worth your effort 1. lcd is very simple to open up remove the rubber bungs in the bezel and you'll be rewarded by cross head screws also on the under side of the machine there are 3 central screws at the very back to lift off the plastic cover above the keyboard (be carrful of the small ribbon,there isn't much length so could be damaged easily. 2. 3 slots under the keyboard very easy to change but there is 1 bugger very strangely located under the cpu heatsink to the very far right with the machine upside down so be prepared to repast ur cpu 3.laptop has a twin caddy under the center cover at the front there is an additional bay for a single drive under the cover next to it (under battery) if you require a 4th you'll be needing a cd-rom to sata hd drive bay from ebay about $8.00 4.forget the copper heat sinks they make no differance at all... Now if the machine came as single card and you want SLI this is going to be very expensive.A single card will run nice but why buy a monster machine like this when a p170sm is smaller and simular performance... if you go SLI you need to budget for:-A 2nd 330w psu // link converter to plug them both into your machine // sli ribbon cable (to link the 2x gtx 7XXm 8XXm 9xxm video cards) // heatsink kit containing undercard insulated adhesive backed copper plate that mounts to your motherboard under the card then the 8 screws to mount the card and heatsink and the 2nd fan (with 3 blac screws...same as chassis screws for this machine)if the machine was originally spec with solo card none of that will be supplied and your looking at a bill of approximately $8-900 for card and upgrade equipement Best advise make do with the solo 880m then replace it with a solo 980m or look for a cheaper machine. Ive done all the above its easy but ur wallet will take a pounding personally im selling my machine or sticking the 2 gtx980m's in i just ordered last week mine was solo amd card i upgraded to SLI 780 clocked the monkeys out of her with no regrets at all so its well worth your efforts..... and it will be an alienware killer if you get a good cpu i run the 4930k 6core 12 thread ivy-E but i regret not getting a quad as these beastys run very warm i run stable at 24/7 4400mhz and ram at 2133 but its all down to luck Thumper on here can get 4500 on his cpu but can only run 1866mhz on his quad channel kit so dont be supprised or dissapointed Good luck in your endevour. on ebay ceg (member):- Clevo _extreme_gaming member will supply everything you need. check your heatsinks i got that when 1 card was throttling and the other was fine surging up n down 20fps give or take a quick reseat of the gpu cooler not ram cooler fixed it immediately the driver might just be coincidence.

ideally you want a amd 7970m there plug and play but its extremely simple to get a 7970m 8970m r9 m290x working in a p170em ive had 3 in the house also had a p170sm a p370em p370sm and p370sm3(3d) also right now a p570wm so kinda know a little about clevo laptop quirks atm we actually have a p370sm forsale SLI 780m and haswell extreme cpu 4930xm but that another story sadly i sold my 7970 a pair of weeks ago or id have helped you out. Just so you know you cannot use a dell 7970m it must be msi or clevo as dell cards have a differnt sensor and there incompatable.. im in st neots cambridgeshire so about an hour away if you need help.

Any possability for unlocked with throttle fix for sli 980m in eurocom panther 5 aka p570wm please both my cards have vbios 12 so im told if that means anything to you?

Best advise find a good cheap 7970-8970m plug and play there good cards and cheaper+faster overall than gtx680ms imo not in all situations thopugh however can be had for 200 or less on ebay. Where are you based sadly i only have 4 780ms or id sort you out..

I ordered 2 gtx980m's last night comming from eurocom if anyone needs a copy of the vbios or any teshing doing shoot me a message,also have a p370sm here i can test them in if required. on a side note will be listing both my 780ms from the p570wm on ebay and & here so watch this space if anyone needs any,my cards run 1200-3000 stable at .50mv on the slider nice blue pcb clevo cards 3months old or pm for first dibs.

Hi my brother has a p370sm from what i can see under the keyboard there is the ir connector for the 3d emmitter can someone point out where the 40-50pin screen connector is so i can see if it has a epd socket to allow upgrading the screen to 120hz as his has 2 irrirating bright spots(pressure spots) so may aswell upgrade it if its doable. teardown guide would be useful but at this stage i have no idea where the connector is hidden or how to remove the offending obstruction... was very easy to see on the 5780wm.

i had the same issue figured it out though plug sli bridge into master card before fitting it,then fold cable under card and screw it into place there is about 3-4mm spare on the cable to reach the slave card but in all honesty its a pissy design to save a few cents.

i cant help myself,i look on ebay or a clevo reseller to find a part i need and end up buying something else shiny.....namely a system >< i have a spare p170sm and a 7970m im about to bay its getting silly i have 6 clevos now,finally sold the Alienwares....

Lemmie know if you require modified drivers or if you can just download from nvidia will be interesting to see as resellers now ship the np9570 with 980 sli... strange considering they announced end of line yet there seems to be a flow of new machines still out there and supporting new gen cards... Unless eurocoN are up to their old tricks shipping with a modded inf driver on the cd.
