Definitely not to hot. The machine will automatically shut off at 90-100C to protect itself. Those temps are good. @Infernal_Cowboy do You have a cooling stand you'd recommend for the y500?

I'm staying with windows 8. Especially now that 8.1 will allow for desktop mode. It is hard for us Y500 users to embrace windows 8 when we don't have a touch screen and the track pad is finicky at best.
