  1. You can use your old cable + sensor bar on the motherboard first. The GT70 sensor bar is not easy to find. I myself have searched for months for a GT60 sensor bar. You just plug in the rightmost MS-1761 cable, then works at least the Power button. So I've also made it with a MS-16F2 board on a GT60. Since possibly have a little poke with a delicate touch the cable, because it really only works in one position. Otherwise manipulates it works just because I run eg a GT70 housing together with the sensor bar with a MS-16F2 motherboard, although it works only the Power Button and the two right USB will not, because the motherboard does not have this connection, but as long as the unit is running, everything is fine. You'll get even more problems. So the HDD1 adapter MS-1761 will not fit on the MS-1762 board, because you need a new (MS-1762C) that fits HDD2 adapter, but works well also not (I have not tested it) to listen to the name MS-1762A. Since you can also make use of the MS-16F3 adapter. What's wrong with your old motherboard?
  2. i know the HW Reset for the MSI boards, nothing changed...same problem... i´ve tested 3 ram modules in 4 slots, 2 GPU´s, 2 CPUs (the i7-2670QM must work with the MS-16F3 because the first GT60 comes with this CPU).
  3. You need to flash the latest Beta Bios 51x. Here is the Biosfile for the GT60, this version can you use also for the GT70. The Bios is than default AHCI & UEFI (win8), but you can change the Settings. Only with this Beta Bios you can use GTX7**M Cards in the old GT70 0NC. 16f3 51x.zip
  4. no one know this stupid problem ?
  5. Yes I'm sure, and no bios is not unlocked. It comes directly from the MSI server is a beta bios specifically for the use of newer graphics cards. in this thread to see even a user who has flashed his GT70 with the 51x BIOS to use its GTX780M can: http://forum.notebookreview.com/msi/760347-ms-1762-trouble-upgrading-780m. html btw: i´m the user "likezero"
  6. You can also Use the Win8 Bios, you must only change the Biossetting from UEFI to Legacy, than works Win7 perfect. in the Win8 Bios is the Default setting UEFI.
  7. Yes, you need a new heatsink for the GTX780M or any other Kepler cards. But the GTX7 ** M series only works with the latest system BIOS version including the latest EC firmware. MSI has the last version the 50X (AHCI) or 70X (Raid) published, see here: MSI Global - Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Motherboard, Graphics and more Whether the GTX7 ** M series work with this bios version, I can not say, but I know that you can use the 51X from GT60 Barebone and thus the GTX7 ** M series works. This version you can find in the appendix. As a heatsink you can buy this version: MSI GT70 GT60 GT780 GT783 Replacement GPU Video Card Heatsink Nvidia 880M 780M | eBay that would be the best. In the range you still need, however, thermal pads, but since you can also use your old ones. The graphics card I only know that the GTX7 ** M work fine. The GTX8 ** M could also work, but I do not know. The GTX9 ** M is very probably need a different heatsink, I would wait in your place, until there is some user reports, which have tested it in the old GT series. MSI itself used the card only in the GT72 series and there the GTX9 ** M series requires a different heatsink as the Kepler series. Very important ... if you want to have no problems with any drivers or modified VBIOS versions, buy necessarily an original MSI card! These work fine when the latest system BIOS version is on the motherboard. 16f3 51x.zip
  8. Oh, that was in an older version. For Windows 7 extends the use of the Legacy Mode, in some bios versions are also "UEFI with CMS", so you can install Windows 7 also.
  9. You can use the Bios for Win8 and Win7, you must only change the bios settings (UEFI Mode and Secure Boot). i´ve testet the Bios for the MSI Whitebooks (Barebone MS-16F3) and for the GT60 0NC.
  10. first you need update your Systembios and EC Firmware. The 51x is the newest version and with this works the "old" GTX780M perfectly, so i think the GTX880M will also work. But why do you don´t wait for the first GTX970M/GTX980M MXM Boards ? Then you get more performance for the same money (with the GTX970M). I think this Cards will also work. 16f3 51x.zip
  11. Which bios version do you have on it? I had exactly the same problem with too old a bios version for a GT60 0NC. No sooner was because the 51x bios on it, the graphics card (a GTX780M then) ran perfectly. Did you have as well as the original MSI GTX770M?
  12. Some pics from my Device... This GTX770M has a green PCB and comes from a GT70 2OC. And i have tested this card also in the Medion X6811 (MS-16F1) from my wife. Works great, but the 150W PSU is a little bit to weak.
  13. yes... and the best is...the card works also perfectly in the old MS-16F1 Barebone.
  14. hello, I bought a motherboard MS-16F31 me about a year ago from Asia, but it could not test because the power board of my MS-16F2 barebone is not compatible. In the meantime, I once had a power board from a GT60 here and was able to test just the motherboard, since it ran. I was only briefly in the Bios and have the motherboard because spotted again, because there was no time more. Now I have GT70 Complete housing and was able to test the MS-16F31 motherboard extensively. Oddly, it will not start now. It only flashes the power button every 5 seconds in white and the fan makes 1-2 turns. I have tested it with some parts ... - i5-2410M - I7 2670QM - Tested 1GB Samsung DDR3 in all slots - 2x4GB DDR3 tested Samsung in all slots - GTX460M - GTX770M - 150W PSU - 180W PSU - Another CMOS battery - With and without battery It is still not connected HDD adapter, but I do not think that it is dadran. The motherboard is where fitted completely in GT70 housing, Sämmtliche cables are connected. Where had I tested the motherboard then the GT60 Power Board, it was not installed. As was the i7 CPU, 1x 4GB Ram and the GTX460M installed, tested with the 150 PSU. Maybe someone knows here's the problem and can help me there on.
  15. @Bugii This is wrong. The GTX770M cards directly from MSI devices (GT60 2OC / GT70 2OC / Medion X7825) also have a green PCB and work perfectly via Plug & Play. Just install it and get started. It is also required no modified driver or VBIOS.
  16. first you cant talk about your laptop, exact name etc... and than from where you get the Bios and than... why will you update your Bios ?
  17. This card works perfectly with the MS-16F2 Barebone: Ms-1w031 Mxm 3.0 Gpu Nvidia Gt555m Msi Schenker Xmg Medion Erazer Grafikkarte | eBay and around 100€ is a good price for a MXM Card. The card works also with the GTX560M Heatsink.

    Waranty sticker

So within the EU the warranty seal does not matter, because the device may only be opened quietly. Here you'll find some answers directly from MSI on the subject, but in German: Garantiesiegel?! Notebook aufrüstbar? - Notebooks und Barebone Systeme - MSI Forum
  19. Why not ? It´s a orignal MSI Card. You need only the 51X Bios & T18 EC Firmware.
  20. normaly the GT60 need the 51X Bios for the GTX7xxM Series. i´ve successfully upgraded a GT60 0NC with a MSI GTX780M, only with the 51X works the Card perfectly. You need also the new EC Firmware, this is include in the package. 16f3 51x.zip
  21. No, the GTX765M will not work with the MS-16F2 Barebone. The only one Kepler card is the GTX770M. When you buy the MSI version of the card (green PCB, must come from a MSI GT60/70 2OC or Medion X7825), than works the card via plug & play, you need only a new Heatsink. Card and Heatsink coast around 300Euro @ Ebay. I use also the GTX770M in my Medion X6819 with the MS-16F2 Barebone. In some games i must use Throttlestop, because the 180W power supply is to weak.
  22. with the green PCB GTX770M from MSI (GT60 2OC / GT 70 2OC / Medion Erazer X7825) you do not need modified drivers. The card works great plug & play. I run such a card from a GT70 2OC in my Medion X6819 (MS-16F2 barebone). In the Medion X6811 (MS-16F1) from my wife but does the card without problems.
  23. no, only the GTX770M works in the old MS-1761 Barebone. No other Kepler Card will work. I use also a GTX770M (green PCB, original MSI) in a MS-16F2 Barebone with the same Motherboard like the GT780DX.
  24. Which BIOS version and which GT60 you have exactly? I recently had a GT60 0NC here, where I wanted to install a GTX780M, there were similar problems. Only with the latest bios (51X) everything went without hesitation and directly plug and play.
  25. i have also an MS-16F2 Barebone (same Motherboard like your MS-1761) and i have tested an original MSI GTX780M (comes from a GT60 2OD). Blackscreen... i´ve read in many thread´s about the GTX780M, this card is definitely not compatible with any MSI motherboard which does not have at least a HM77 chipset. The GTX680M and the GTX675MX will also not work. The only Kepler cards are the GTX770M and many Quadro K **** M cards. I myself have installed in my MS-16F2 barebone an original MSI GTX770M 3GB (from an MSI GT70 2OC), it works fine, plug and play, incl. Mod OC VBIOS of svl7 here on the forum.
