  2. Woo hoo, up and running :-) Steps for anyone else preinstalled win8 Prepare the usb key as per prev posts. Turn off secureboot & turn on legacy (your laptop wont boot back into windows any more) Do the blind flash of the stock dell os. Laptop still wont boot because a04 doesnt have a uefi option. Remove your boot hdd & replace it with an empty one. Install windows to the replacement drive Do the modded a10 flash Replace your existing boot hdd Turn on uefi Boot & enjoy. My experience was slightly different. I pulled an old hard drive out of my drawer expecting to install windows on it. Turns out it had win7 on it from when i upgraded my old laptop to ssd & it booted no problems?? No HAL errors or fatal exceptions?? I didnt complain, just flashed svl's bios and rebooted with my original drives :-) Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

  3. Seven psychopaths - Definitely had some great moments, felt like it could have been truly amazing and just fell short. Worth watching just for Christopher Walken.

  6. Thank you for this info Nando, you're help and knowledge are major time savings and I for one am glad that you share this information with others. I'm not sure how good it would look having the tablet with it's base cover left open and cable strewn from inside of it like that but down the track, if it's screen falters again, it would make an ok new pc. Can't believe that they also soldered their chipsets into the board! It's pretty selfish as it would surely have cost less time to just socket them instead of soldering them into the boards.. maybe on a factory line it's about the same time I don't know.

  7. As long a both cards are flashed correctly, they will scale to the same maximum overclock. I have two Clevo 680M in my Alienware and they scale to max just fine. However, sometimes the secondary card will not clock to max if the game doesn't have a proper SLI profile or it doesn't utilize the cards fully. So test it in a modern title like Battlefield 3 to make sure.

  8. hi Manuel, welcome you can find the vbios here http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1847-nvidia-kepler-vbios-mods-overclocking-editions-modified-clocks-voltage-tweaks.html You need to have five posts to obtain the right of downloading file ... or be a techInferno elite member for 5$ If you got a P150HM, only MSI 80.04.33.00.24 and Clevo 80.04.29.00.01 are compatible. Other vbios will make your laptop unbootable. Cheers

  9. It's worth noting that Macbook Pros are essentially overpriced ultrabooks. They are all built around the same CPUs and chipsets (Intel Core i5/i7) with Intel HD integrated GPUs. If he's looking to avoid ultrabooks, he's already failed. As far as a recommendation, here's mine. I ordered a Lenovo Y580 just recently (Newegg.com - lenovo IdeaPad Y580 (59345717) Notebook Intel Core i7 3630QM(2.40GHz) 15.6" 8GB Memory 1TB HDD Blu-ray Combo NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M). It doesn't come equipped with an SSD hard drive, although I ordered a 128 GB mSATA SSD HD for $100 (Amazon.com: MyDigitalSSD 128GB BP3 Bullet Proof 3 mSATA III (6G) SSD Solid State Drive - MDMS-BP3-128: Computers & Accessories) to use as a system drive. The only flaw thus far is the lack of support for dual band wifi cards, although there have been some custom bios files released in this forum to address this issue. You can even buy the dual band wifi cards Lenovo installs in their other machines (Amazon.com: Adpt 6205 Half Height Minicard (bulk) By Intel: Computers & Accessories) for $13. The system does slightly exceed the weight requirements though, weighing in at 2.8 kg. Overall though, for $1113 you get the following - CPU - Intel Core i7-3630QM Quadcore 2.4GHz with dynamic overclocking up to 3.4 GHz GPU - NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660M and Intel HD 4000 RAM - 8 GB DDR3 SSD - 128 GB mSATA III system drive HDD - 1TB 5200 RPM HD data drive Optical Drive - A blu-ray combo drive Wifi - Dual band (pending a successful custom bios flash) Display - 1920 x 1080 LED backlit, 15.6" Performance wise, it's better than any Macbook Pro available and much much cheaper for any of the Macbook Pros that are even close.
