After much fiddling with my system and these Clevo cards + some great tips from my buddy @Mr. Fox I finally joined the 17k gpu and 14k overall club. Guess these crappy Clevo's were able to put on the big boy pants and join Dell: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2920XM Processor,Alienware M18xR1 score: P14215 3DMarks Of course thanks goes to @svl7 since all of us would be pissed about NVIDIA gimping these cards had our resident vbios genius not gotten passed their bullshit. Also props to @johnksss for keeping us excited enough to continue the chase.

Johnksss and Mr.Fox humble me with there knowledge....thanks guys, and Svl7 for creating these killer v-bios.

Great progress, @Brian. Good job, bro. Now those Clevo cards are behaving more like a 680M is supposed to behave. Agree that we owe a ton of thanks and appreciation to @svl7 for his awesome talents that he so unselfishly shares.

You're going to get there, too. I know you will. It is just a matter of finding what works best for your system, and no two of them are exactly alike. Brian mentioned that it was "tips" not "answers" that helped. He still had to use trial and error because his system works different than mine does. I expect we will start seeing some wicked benchmarks from you before long, buddy. I owe what I know to @johnksss not because he fed me all the answers, but because helped me understand the concepts I needed to follow in order to continue making progress on my own.

Indeed all systems are different and these clevo cards with the added ram suck down additional power which initially gave me a lot of headache. Another thing I picked up on tonight is that if anyone is testing using an hdtv like me, be sure to disable audio in the nvcp and drop the resolution for good measure. Before I did that, my cards were throttling no matter what.

Another thing, keep the psu cold enough and you will get a bit more juice out of it.

It's a pretty cool benchmark. I like it. I needed to set NVIDIA Control Panel for the GPUs to use AFR2 for SLI to work.

Did you do the catzilla bench yet? 1440P

I want them to hurry up and fix the submitting so i can grab a snap shot of my name in that top ten list. Since once it gets going, we will never get any where close to that on the desktop side.

my list

Yes, I am eager to get it fixed also. My impression from their email replies is they don't know why it is not working. Below are my Catzilla benches. :)

I'm getting CPU power throttling on the Physics (CPU) test, and these runs are with 1.087v on GPU because of that. There is just not enough power to go around, LOL.

Tiger - 13095 Catzilla - 8159

[H][/HR]But, 3DMark06 definitely needs AC cooling, and OC on the GPU actually generates a low benchmark score. Apparently a highly overclocked 680M robs the overclocked CPU of the power it needs to run, and vice versa... or it seems that is the case. I had higher 3DMark06 scores with far less powerful 580M and 7970M GPUs. Score below is running with the M18x sitting in my lap and my 580M and 7970M high scores were running on AC, so will have to give that a go pretty soon.

Here are some new 4.8GHz runs... It's perfect benching weather outside... 30°F right now, so I ran these while grilling steaks out on the patio

Happy New Year!

@johnksss - it's cool to see our M18x beasts grabbing Catzilla scores near the top of the stack, right along side decent desktop computers that I am sure their owners are proud of. (Although, some of them may not be pleased if they discover there are laptops that run as well as their desktops.)

Tiger - 13284 under Windows 8 (lower CPU results)

New 3920XM CPU is running good, but the GPUs act a little bit different now. Will need to re-train myself for 3DMark11, LOL. But, yeah, 3920XM is a beast. I was able to get it up to 108W at a peak once, but appears around 95W is the limit here, also. Unless I can figure out what setting is limiting it.

Here are some screen shots for 3920XM OC settings... this will produce a 4.7GHz OC.

Some settings are only possibly using XTU... use these as a starting point for tuning.

Mr. Fox, why such loose memory timings? Can you not set lower, or can the memory just not take it?

By "loose", you mean high CAS latency? If so, I have not found any way to adjust the Kingston HyperX PnP 1866. No settings seem to stick... manual adjustments are ignored for some reason. Not sure how much of a gain it would get me in the benching numbers if I could get them to lower values.
