ArCh_Linux
Using YUMI i created a boot drive for multiple distros of Linux. After changing my BIOS to allow a boot from USB, it will not actually boot or go to the YUMI screen, it just displays Syslinux copyright information. Any ideas? DougQuaid
I've had no problems creating bootable usb with archlinux using linux live usb creator and then booting and installing in uefi modeYUMI doesn't support uefi, so you must enable legacy support boot mode in bios

hadrons123
I use dd tool, its very easy. dd if=locationof.iso of=/dev/sdX , where X is your drive name as shown by 'fdisk -l' on root terminal.

victormgz
Actually, You can boot Ubuntu 14.04 without disabling UEFI in the BIOS, but if you have the default Windows 8.1 installation, Ubuntu won't be able to recognize the partitions and when it install GRUB your lap wont boot again Windows. elementalfx
Actually, You can boot Ubuntu 14.04 without disabling UEFI in the BIOS, but if you have the default Windows 8.1 installation, Ubuntu won't be able to recognize the partitions and when it install GRUB your lap wont boot again Windows. If you install Ubuntu in UEFI mode ubuntu must install its boot files to EFI partition. Mine is under boot option in Boot menu when hitting F12 and also when it boots to grub it gives me option to boot to Windows. Thats out of the box after installing Ubuntu. No post installation of Grub or whatever. I used Rufus USB creator to create UEFI bootable installation of UBUNTU. No need to switch to legacy mode. At least not with latest ubuntu.
