mw86
Intel didn't make a big deal about its release of it's new WiDi technology standing for Wireless Display. It will require a 2011 Generation 2 TV adapter and a laptop with a Sandy Bridge processor — along with the newest Intel HD drivers. This technology compares to the WiHD offered in the new Alienware Laptop revisions. Founder Michael Posted May 7, 2011 Founder Share Posted May 7, 2011 i know there's a approximately 1 second lag in video with WiDi vs milliseconds lag in WirelessHD, so that's quite important when you want to play games on a big screen. It's awesome however that there are two competing technologies battling for the same market, it makes both products strive for excellence and i believe we'll see great things from both technologies in the near future.
mw86
Your right Michael, it's great that there are competing products in this category for sure. I'm glad I will be going with the WiHD instead. I didn't realize the lag difference between the two. Very nice find Michael.
Founder Brian Posted May 8, 2011 Founder Share Posted May 8, 2011 Intel WiDi sucks because you can't use the discrete GPU with it. So IMO, it's a big fail. It's good for those that own netbooks or weak sauce notebooks.

DjVirusPL
I have WIDI in my notebook ant im happy from it. Sometimes some probloems but it work's in most cases But remember. YOU CANT PLAY GAMES BY WIDI. Everything what u see on tv comes about 0,5sec late. Great for Movies but not for gaming
