thanxs
Just got this laptop. Started it and went through the normal updates. After restart and logging in, it goes to the start menu then logs out back to the lock screen after a few seconds. Neither MSI or Microsoft can help me. Any ides or fixes? Founder Brian Posted December 31, 2012 Founder Share Posted December 31, 2012 Which updates did you run? Try doing a restore if that's the case.Sent from my GT-N7000
CooleRnax
Try recovering windows from recovery partition
RazieLDG
While booting press F8 for Advanced options, you can choose a restore point before install updates. If you got BSOD can you write error code?
dale350zman
do you have a copy of windows 7 it may be better to run that as at the moment its more stable than windows 8.
haggler
I had similar issue, I remembered pressing f3 during boot, the went to advanced options and msi factory restore and was good to go.
djbiohazard
Didn't want to say it, but it's probably Windows 8... But restoring is the way to go, sometimes an exisiting (new) install is messed with (like on my GT70) and a recovery should help.
SoulkeepHL
Windows 8 actually has the best "recovery" that I've seen, you should be able to hit F8 just as windows starts to load and be able to pull up the recovery manager and roll back to an earlier restore point. I've got Win8 running swimmingly on my 1762 (Gt70 Whitebook).
