  1. 1900k.. still climbing... NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor,Alienware M14xR1 score: P1900 3DMarks
  2. Now have the highest m14x score of all time... NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor,Alienware M14xR1 score: P1896 3DMarks Yeah.. Thanks SVL.. im just getting started!
  3. The way I will verify is simple. I can't get over 805 on gpu clock/1610 on shader. So If I can hit 810 then I know it works.
  4. I think I would like to be the first to break 1900 on 3dmark11 for the m14x so I will update when i get home. Prolly around 6pm CST or so..
  5. 1 thing that should also be noted is that I believe an update to 3dmark11 went out sometime after the release of 275.50 and before 280.26. I wonder if that impacted testing at all? Good post! Thanks so much.
  6. Wow... Thanks SVL. I may have to give this a try when I get home.
  7. FYI.. I am running 280.26 with INF file from laptopvideo2go.com and working great. No issues. I may need to compare it to 275 beta though.
  8. Here is 1875 and all I feel like doing tonight.. need some down time for a while... NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor,Alienware M14xR1 score: P1875 3DMarks NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor,Alienware M14xR1 score: P1875 3DMarks I dont care if it's not official as I am pissed I am not hitting at least my old score of 1885.

  10. stock clocks (if i remember correctly) are 675 on the gpu. It can easily be overclocked to 800 and probably more like 825 or 850 but each machine is different. Example my 5850 stock clocks were 625/1000 and leaving the mem alone I could play games at 825/1000 which would score me 2700 on 3dmark11. Strong cards.. very strong cards. I love ATI to tell you the truth.
  11. The 6870 will be able to overclock stable to a score of over 2600 on 3dmark11. I got 2780 or something close on my m15x with the 5850. Its an outstanding platform. Just heavier than the m14x. Sorry to hear about all your troubles. I really am. It makes alienware look bad when they are supposed to be the premier notebook and they just can't get it right. Please keep us posted.. Remember i owe you one... I wont forget.
  12. Outstanding score Ninja. Driver 275.27? Was that the beta driver before 275.33? If so I really liked that driver. I doubt I can beat that but I may try. You processor is much more powerful than mine for certain. Questions... 1. Is your cpu set to core parking enabled or disabled? Is memory kingston x set to profile 2 in bios? Did you oc your cpu in bios at all? Again congrats! Thats certainly an outstanding score!
  13. 3dmark score of stock vs stock 1410 (nvidia 555mgt) vs 2300 (6870) huge difference.. night and day.
  14. @Ninja - right now the only huge gap will be BFBC2 or BF3 alpha. But I dont think he has BFBC2. Crysis 2 is pretty close from what I can tell. Anyone with an 8 thread cpu can launch the game and play, toggle out to watch your active cores to see how many are used. Crysis 2 used 4, most of the other games use 4 or less. Witcher 2 is a big difference, it uses 4 heavily and the other 3 or 4 at around 20-30percent. In witcher 2 I get an average of 36-38fps compared to 28 posted by the I5. I will be happy to post comparisons, it's just been a little busy on my end and also trying to get a little recreation time as well. In truth I am very happy to see his strong numbers for the I5. The games I wish he had to compare are BFBC2 Dawn of war 2 (or any others with built in benchmark) Arma 2 (Benchmark) I created this because I wanted him to have an outlet to show the real numbers without a bunch of trolling because I get sick of that $hit fast. So my honest thoughts are the I5 is definitely enough for most games, multiplayer games like BF3 and BFBC2 are still up in the air for comparisons. I would bet that the I5 does great for Call of duty.
  15. Dear IC, I have sent you email from my gmail account. I would like to take update the m14x and post before and after findings. I appreciate you allowing us to participate. 16. Same issue with the beta drivers. I couldn't get dx11 to work at all with them. I haven't tried the newest whql drivers released today but have you tried enabled high performance nvidia in the control panel instead of integrated intel?
  17. Here is the m14x support download page. Choose bios and download. Drivers & Downloads
  18. Thanks Jeff! I restored it from backup to get the download content! Can't beat FREE!
  19. I like the post in that your throwing yourself on top of the grenade for us, but i am disappointed that the m14x is giving you so much hassle.. I really am sorry about that.
  20. Dane.. can you confirm it's the unlocked version of A03? Thanks! +rep Also.. Can you see if you can up the bclk past 103.1 (our limit?). You dont have to apply the settings, Im just curious if it allows you to do it. Thanks again.. and yes.. you win the HUGE BALLS AWARD!
  21. Dane - you m14x is pretty standard. Besides re-seating the ram and reloading the OS .. im not too sure what else to try. I need specific details as to when it locks, how far into post, etc...
  22. Shoot Dane.. I need to make you a list of stuff... A01 is the bios you want. A03 has the clocks locked on battery at like 200/300 or something insane like that. 1. Bios A01 (and make custom power profile to set video on balanced for battery) 2. Windows optimizations (msconfig startup, Windows set to performance, Page file) 3. Kill all the alienware services unless you need them (alienfx, facial recognition, all that mess) 4. Core Parking (up to you.. ) I leave mine parked now unless I am benchmarking. 5. About to be dinner here.. probably think of more in a while
  23. Also.. the original clock is 590, I can already play at 790 on most games no prob. So how many cards would allow a 200 mhz overclock. its pretty insane as is.. now .. if we increase the voltage maybe we get to 815 or 820? I Need to think about risk vs reward here... (just for my own machine)
  24. The other issue is I bet he modified bios A03 and not Bios A01. ugh...
  25. Very impressed with those figures. Im working on the comparison figures which in truth are not far off from yours. I really wish you have BFBC2 or something comparible to really compare the 4 vs 8 threads when utilized. I am installing witcher 2 tonight (takes a long while) so I will have some figures tomorrow. I found a decent crysis 2 benchmark tool by adrenaline but the ultra bench is weird. It supports dx11 and hi rez textures supposedly. The extreme benchmark worked well. I took screenshots of everything just in case. NINJA - do you have any other games we can compare? Again I really appreciate all your effort here. Not everyone will be able to afford the I7 and this thread will help those make an educated decision on what's most important. Also wish you had ARMA 2. That's a huge game that pushes the machines to the limit.
