  1. @Vlad No wonder your gpu can't handle its maximum oc'ability lol. Cant wait for my 240watts adapter to arrive here soon.
  2. Just do your project first (dell 240 wattsmod) before you ask svl7 lol
  3. When you done with the mod of the 240 watts adapter. can you show the pics you soldered with the new end plug for your nb? tnx Cant wait to get a dell 240 watts adaptor too...
  4. hmmm so from what you said you didnt buy a dell adapter 240watts? I opened this thread http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/2645-220-watts-ac-adapter-msi-gt60-70-a.html Because i am looking to upgrading my adapter to get a dell 240 watts. Several people gave good feedbacks which some of them have already.... I want to follow GrimMachines suggestion though when replacing the end plug of the dell adapter and his advice when looking for an adapater
  5. And vice versa? So far the stable vbios and showing good results to me is the MSI OV-1025v rev2. I've tested the OV - 1.0V and the non-OV (tweaked timings) but you have to lower the clocks to make the desired speeds stable... BTW if I use the HM versions for MSI, then will the EC still auto detect the temps for the fan to speed up? I'm just curious.... How high can an intel 3610M processor reach scores in 3dmark 11? 8k?
  6. @SilentMarket Are you using the original ac adapter of you nb? The 180 watts? Then u somehow accidentally " disconnected the adapter" and one of the mosfet burned? Can tell the details? Tnx
  7. @Vlad Hmm.. I havent downloaded crysis 3.. Although i am using right now the rev 2 OV 1025volts of svl7 and played games like, bf3,fc3,crysis2 running fine though... Tell me the results when you get your 240 watts adapter. Can post in my thread if you want to. tnx
  8. @debianik before you using the 230watts. your old adapter 150 watts cant handle 6990m and with 920xm? and what are the symptoms? with your 230 watts does it work flawlessly? the power is consuming more than 150 watts?
  9. @Grim Are you still there? How's your 240watts dell adapter on your msi gt780? no problems?
  10. @Vlad I've posted a thread here http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/2645-220-watts-ac-adapter-msi-gt60-70-a.html this might help you too btw. I have an msi gt60. Planning to get a 240 watts soon but i think the ec firmware is responsible in handling the wattage of the ac adapter.. When you just use your laptop inside your house, make sure you take off the battery cos your laptop always recharging the battery when its not fully charge (less than 100%). @kolias What NB do you have?... BTW... can someone also post on ebay on where to get an endplug for msi gt60? I dont know the exact measurements of the plug.... Must need this for that 240 watts delta ac adapter too.
  11. Asus have their own way of making GPU's to their laptops (They dont comply to mxm standards). So with your question nope. I think svl7 can tweak the settings of core speed and mem speed or even tweak the voltage of the gpu and thats it... If you want to buy a high end rig and you still want asus then you just wait for them to release a new laptop with a new gpu model. That is the asus way
  12. Its a good thing the gpu die didnt crack while you inserted 2 copper shims. nice one! I'll wait for the copper shim that i ordered then...
  13. So how many copper shims you put with the latest test you did? You soldered the shims on the gpu heatsink? 2cm x 2cm x 0.7mm (is this the exact die size of the gpu)? I ordered copper shimms same with the same specs u told me.. i am going to thermal adhesive the shims on the gpu heatsink to have a better heat dissipation. Or try your method first, put the shims in between the gpu die and gpu heatsink
  14. @svl7 If you have a current 180 watts ac adapter and manage to get a 240 watts dell ac adapter modded with an endplug for your nb... does your nb reads the new 240 watts adapter if all of the components need more than 180 watts including CPU,GPU, ram etc ?
  15. @Paul Whats latest news with the development of your gpu heatsink?
  16. @svl ..What updates does that version have compared to the vbios which you modded found on the first page of this thread?
  17. GTX680M is optimus gpu. your gt683R is not optimus compliant so when you (successfully) put the gtx680m in your nb, you will be embraced by a black screen.
  18. @Xonar will an nvidia gtx670m work on this nb? or do i need to downograde the vbios to 570m?
  19. Question though...How come ati mobile gpu's have higher wei score compared to Nvidia mobile gpu's when in fact nvidia performs much better but have a lower wei score?
  20. One advantage i see with optimus. The battery takes so long to drain. If you watch blue ray movie, you can still finish it. The battery still have enough juice to browse and do some office spreadsheet work... Btw can gt60/70 handle gtx 700 series gpu?
  21. @Xonar, So is it possible if you can help to mod this ec? BETA EC for GT60 (16F3) & GT70 (1762) to read of more than 180 watts? Can you oc both cpu and gpu with you're 150 watts delta?
