  1. That's hardly anything to boast about if your trade off is a gimped mobile CPU in exchange. But to each his own.
  2. Where's the gain in space? You could build a desktop w/the exact same footprint and have a laptop in addition to that. Nothing really changes and I fail to see the advantages of a dock that's so big.
  3. Thread is a year old, please don't necro old content. Closing.
  4. That gaming "dock" is as big as many mini atx cases so what's the point? Just build a full computer instead.
  5. Try posting it in the proper forum (MSI subform). T|I vbios patcher is no longer in active development.
  6. No words need to be said: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d43_1415794086
  7. Really detailed interview, talks about a lot of good shit:
  8. I've worked on a server that's got a lot of features, just needs a steady player base: www.kgbgaming.com Features: 1. perm wanted list 2. random gold shipwrecks every two hours 3. persistent log in/log out location 4. custom fed reserve structure 5. sea based oil rigs 6. tons of activities (e.g. crystal meth, nuclear fuel rods, moonshine etc) 7. casino 8. dynamic marketplace If you're into Altis Life, give the server a try and let me know what you think. It's fairly new but feature complete. We're going to add a debit card system and other features soon. Filter for KGB Gaming in ARMA 3 and it will pop up.
  9. No idea what you're talking about!
  10. I have an iPhone 6+ but used to have the Lumia
  11. Anything over 1080p on current laptops is a bit overkill IMO for gaming. Just don't see any increase in clarity but take a hit in performance. Now desktops on the other hand I can understand but the race for pixels with phones/laptops/tablets? It reminds me of the "I've got moar megapixels so it must be better!" deal with cameras.
  12. The 970M/980M will bury AMD once and for all in the mobile GPU business. They have nothing to answer it with and won't for a long long time. AMD as a whole right now is getting it's ass handed to it in every direction - if it didn't have those console contracts it would be hemorrhaging more money than it already does. Frankly I'm surprised the company hasn't filed for bankruptcy yet.
  13. PC gaming is doing well overall and is still a growth market if you look at all the recent charts while consoles are topping out and/or contracting. The reason the PC gaming market has stabilized is due to services like Steam which through frequent sales, early access deals and it's greenlight program have largely reduced PC pirating (I don't have figures on hand but read this recently). In addition, Indy developers have stepped up with some creative games for the PC that you simply can't find on the console (e.g. Day Z and its mods). While we may lack Super Mario Brothers (who really cares about SMB?) due to Nintendo not licensing their IP to anyone or getting the latest GTA V late, it doesn't really matter much because these so-called AAA games are just rehashed shit and bring very little new content to the user experience.
  14. This is what makes ARMA 3 so much better than BF4, the amount of things you can do with the game. It offers far far more value for the dollar than BF series ever could. In the beginning of the video I'm playing a mod called King of the Hill and after that the other videos are from Altis Life which is a mission file for ARMA 3--basically an RPG with cops/robbers/gangs that is fully persistent.
  15. Not true, the third card scaled quite well when I ran 3 x 680's in the OP. Microstuttering wasn't an issue I noticed either.
  16. ARMA 3 gun play is very similar to BF4, I go back and forth between them daily without issue. ARMA may have started out as a wannabe simulator but it's moving more and more towards being an arcade like game like the Battlefield series. Except unlike Battlefield, it has a shit ton of awesome mods and mission files (e.g. Altis life) that blow away Battlefield. But yeah I didn't even take into consideration their shortcut packs which are just another way to fleece customer's who don't want to deal with hours and hours of unlocking weapons.
  17. Here's a good thread on reddit with a DICE employee's reply regarding the tick rate: While The 10hz Tick Rate Remains "Net Code" will NEVER Improve. Let's Pressure DICE to Fix This! : battlefield_4 Basically EA has done this to stave off costs for server hardware. Since they want to bleed the Battlefield series with microtransactions aka DLC's, they don't release server side files to the general public anymore and have made the Battlefield series a walled off garden. This is why people need to start boycotting the entire franchise and lend support instead to the ARMA series which is still PC to the core.
  18. Any disconnects experienced with it?
  19. I just purchased the WRT1900AC and it's a fantastic router and is one of the very few that has an active fan built in to cool when it gets hot (and the dual 1.5 ghz ARM cpu will get hot). The thing is all the other alternative routers are good as well (AC-68U, N7000) but they have slower processors and no active cooling. Also, supposedly Belkin/Linksys are working with OpenWRT so that we get an open source firmware eventually because the stock one is very basic. However, this is the only router I've tried that has been able to consistently run dual bands for me w/out disconnecting.
  20. BF what? I might get some BF4 in tonight. GF got pissed at me for playing altis life too much lol.
  21. New episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_sJKgMe_ZA&hd=1
  22. Ok this is a mission/mod of ARMA 3 that has sucked me in and I find myself playing it for hours at a time each day. The key to having fun in this game is meeting a group of people you get along with and can form a gang with because as a loner, its almost guaranteed you will get ganked by other groups for money and whatever loot you're carrying. If you are into persistent/MMO type games with battlefield style twitch combat, then this is the game for you. There is no leveling bs in this game, you simply join the world and decide what you want to do: civilian (who can farm apples, fish, mine ore, drive taxis) or you become a rebel/gang member that fights the other players who are police (these cops have the ability to put you in jail, ticket you and/or use lethal force). As a rebel, you get access to exclusive outposts that have higher caliber weapons and armor so you can take on the cops. On some servers, rebel gangs become "whitelisted" by the server once recognized by an admin and they can fight the other gangs for territory (e.g. towns, drug fields) and blackmail people for money and they are free to kill the police at anytime. Here's some videos I've made with the gang I run with, this server is on an older version of Altis Life (v 2.3) so it doesn't have lockpicking, taxis, EMS services, suicide vests etc in it but may shortly: Holding up guys at the diamond trader http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ob9Dvrptapo&hd=1 Iron bandits - hitting the iron trader and scoring big <object bgcolor='#000000' data='http://www.twitch.tv/widgets/archive_embed_player.swf' height='378' id='clip_embed_player_flash' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='620'><param name='movie' value='http://www.twitch.tv/widgets/archive_embed_player.swf' /><param name='allowScriptAccess' value='always' /><param name='allowNetworking' value='all' /><param name='allowFullScreen' value='true' /><param name='flashvars' value='title=ARMA%2BIII%253A%2BAltis%2BLife%2B-%2BIron%2BBandits&channel=dirtyscrubz&auto_play=fa lse&start_volume=25&chapter_id=3864064' /></object><br /><a href="http://www.twitch.tv/dirtyscrubz" class="trk" style="padding:2px 0px 4px; display:block; width: 320px; font-weight:normal; font-size:10px; text-decoration:underline; text-align:center;">Watch live video from DirtyScrubz on TwitchTV</a> Athira Chaos <object bgcolor='#000000' data='http://www.twitch.tv/widgets/archive_embed_player.swf' height='378' id='clip_embed_player_flash' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='620'><param name='movie' value='http://www.twitch.tv/widgets/archive_embed_player.swf'><param name='allowScriptAccess' value='always'><param name='allowNetworking' value='all'><param name='allowFullScreen' value='true'><param name='flashvars' value='title=ARMA%2BIII%253A%2BAltis%2BLife%2B-%2BAthira%2BChaos&channel=dirtyscrubz&auto_play=fa lse&start_volume=25&chapter_id=3862974'></object><br><a href="http://www.twitch.tv/dirtyscrubz" class="trk" style="padding:2px 0px 4px; display:block; width: 320px; font-weight:normal; font-size:10px; text-decoration:underline; text-align:center;">Watch live video from DirtyScrubz on TwitchTV</a> Rest of the twitch tv feed: Twitch
