  1. Sweet, I'll be on late tonight or early tomorrow if you wanna partner up!
  2. You can always increase voltage for better stability for overclocks but there's rapidly diminishing returns and you need adequate cooling.
  3. AMD has allegedly delayed their upcoming flagship dual GPU based on the Fiji silicon dubbed "Gemini" to Q2 2016. Earlier this year, during an E3 livecast, Lisa Su (AMD CEO) had committed to a release date of Christmas 2015. When questioned by hardware.fr about the delay, AMD claims it has been pushed back because the HMD (head mounted display) ecosystem isn't quite ready yet and therefore they opted to hold off on Gemini's release until Q2 2016. However, this does bring into question whether Gemini will even be relevant in Q2 2016 as AMD is also scheduled to begin release of it's much anticipated next generation Greenland GPU during that time frame. 4. Gigabyte is a really good brand but if you want a gaming notebook I would avoid 4k panels. Even desktops with dual Titan X's can barely handle 4K so a mobile GPU like 980m would choke and be completely useless. You would be forced to play at non-native resolution and on an LCD that looks terrible. I would pick a gaming notebook that has the standard 1920 x 1080p resolution and the 980m as the perfect combination.

  6. Are you trying to go above 60 Hz? If so, google your panel's model number and manufacturer and see if it's even possible.
  7. Aside from a bios mod, most likely not if you're looking to force a p state.
  8. South Korean site etnews reports that AMD's next generation Greenland GPU, scheduled to be released in Q2 2016, will be produced by both Samsung and Global Foundries using 14 nm FinFET LPP. Since both Samsung and Global Foundries share a common IP for 14 nm LPP, AMD will be in a position to leverage both of them for maximum production capacity. TSMC, which traditionally produces GPUs for AMD and it's rival NVIDIA, lost AMD's contract due to it's inability to keep up with yield and supply demands. Greenland is expected to offer 2x the energy efficiency of the current GCN architecture and is AMD's direct competitor to NVIDIA's Pascal. Source: WCCFTech This is yet another win for Samsung which has managed to steal back Apple from TSMC and will also be producing chips for Qualcomm. It will be interesting to see whether AMD being on 14nm LPP will give it any advantage over NVIDIA who reportedly will be using TSMC's 16nm FinFET+ for Pascal. View full article
A++ work from svl7 as always.
  9. Final update: We created a custom script that solved most or all outstanding issues with the conversion from VB to IPS. Thank you for your patience during this time and we apologize for any inconvenience. With our switch away from Vbulletin, we noticed that several posts with tables and/or anchor links did not convert as planned and as a result are broken. We are in the process of creating a query to repair what we can and in consultation with Invision Power Services (IPS) to seek a remedy. However, we would like your assistance: If you have a post that you made recently that has a broken table or hyperlink, we'd appreciate you editing it and taking care of it. If you are not the author but just someone reading a post and notice it's broken, please report it or post the link in this thread so we can take care of it. Thanks.
  10. Ubisoft was supposed to have an open beta for The Division this year but pushed it back to early 2016. However, a few Xbox One owners that pre-ordered the game and others that registered on Ubisoft's website were invited to test out a small section of the game. Of course it goes without saying that Ubisoft strictly forbid any leaking of gameplay footage since it's an alpha but it seems that was ignored by one of the closed beta testers. Ubisoft has been busy filing DMCA notices and getting the footage pulled from YouTube but NeoGaf still has a few backups available for those that are interested. 11. I'm liking the design and the improvised magazine holder as a mesh, nice thinking outside the box! Good job! I sense an article promotion coming up.
  12. I can't get tickets to see this yet because all the theaters around me are sold out. I'm hoping by Monday/Tuesday it will die down a bit and I can go see it. Hope it was enjoyable, I avoided your spoilers.
  13. Message me on Origin when you get it! I need a "high" gaming partner.
  14. Restored svl7's thread - was removed by mistake.
  15. Given all the parts replaced on that macbook, wouldn't it have made sense for Apple to simply give you a replacement, even if it were a refurbished unit? Makes no sense to keep swapping out parts like that.
  16. Haha yeah get it! That and Rainbow 6 Siege are hella fun when you play w/the right people.
  17. Join me next time and you won't get bored when we're partnered.

  19. Just for fun here's the compare between your Firestrike and one of my Titan X's OC'd: http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/6824038/fs/6521300 Ignoring the percentages and looking at raw fps, the mobile GPU comes off as really impressive. Have you compared these results to the new 980 notebook card?
  20. Understood, no problem. BTW, just realized we had our limits too low for you guys so now you can upload > 1 MB files.
  21. You just zip the file and then upload it. We normally do not allow external links but I'll let you keep this one.
  22. Link has been updated but if your account is still Pre-Promotion @crash you will have to wait about a week and participate in the forums before you can access attachments here.
  23. What do you plan to do with the noteboook? Game, productivity, editing? Is your criteria limited to only a notebook or a noteboook + desktop combination?
  24. If you're visiting this website regularly then the chances are that you're an avid PC gamer. And if there's something PC gamers love, it is discounted new games--something the console crowd rarely gets. Green Man Gaming has a November 23% off voucher active right now that can be used on new select titles such as Just Cause 3. I have used Green Man Gaming extensively and recommend them as a good alternative to Steam sales and the best part is that most of their games have a Steam key. 23PERC-WTHGMG-ADVENT View full article
