  1. Thanks for replying nickisnoob10. I have 3 different cables from amazon, all Thunderbolt/miniDisplay ports to Displayport. All 3 worked with a Dell u2412m on the displayport at 1920x1200 resolution and 60 Hz. And I checked one of the 3 on a Macbook Pro on the Dell S2716DG monitor. The MacBook Pro was able to detect the monitor and the monitor was able to show the desktop at 2560x1440 at 120 Hz. What did you get your cable from?
  2. Thanks Klem for the detailed instructions. I'm bookmarking this and looking forward to trying this out once I am able to download.
  3. Hello nickisboob10, I'm having the same problem as you with a 2014 EON17-SLX with SLI 2x GTX 880M on a Thunderbolt Port with both the DELL S2716Dg and ASUS ROG P279Q monitors. I'm looking for a solution for this too. Hope you'll find an answer.
  4. for single player, I've tried: Don't Starve Stranded Rimworld I've watched youtubers playing: 7 days to Die Left 4 Dead 2 Ark series SOFT, Modded, Scorched Ghostwolfgames, Deluksgaming, and Blitzkriegsler got my first few youtube subscriptions for proving some highly entertaining youtube series. Gotta have something to watch as you spend several hours deconstructing and eating blue crabs. XD
  5. whoa. Some very nice screenshots Brian. Thanks for sharing. =)
  6. Thank you for making the helpful video. Very useful tip. I'll create a shortcut to C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation on my desktop also.
  7. Mine was a Mac SE30. I still remember the installable interrupt button. It allowed you to run debug on any program that crashed thus preventing the whole computer from crashing and causing lost of work. Heh, brings back old memories of ultima RPG gaming on the old NES and making maps for dungeons and areas.
  8. Hi folks, I stumbled upon this page while looking for a solution which would allow my SLI GTX 880M Thunderbolt port to connect to a monitor that has 120HZ frequency refresh rate or higher. I've played with those cardboard 3D DIY goggles for smart phones and that got me interested in trying ou the nVidia 3D vision. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to connect any monitor using the Thunderbolt Port/mini Displayport at 120Hz at all. I've tried various cables, monitors, drivers, toggling G-SYNC on and off, Toggling SLI enabled/disabled, and tried different Thunderbolt Port Security seetings (Legacy, Unique ID, and DP++), but nothing has working so far to resolve the "no signal detected from Displayport" from the monitors. Even though the monitors and the cables do work at 120Hz on friend's Apple MacBook Pro. I've had this problem for half a year now and hoping for a solution. I'm eager to see if the Keplar v1.00 nVidia BIOS would make any difference or not.
  9. Hi folks, I've been trying to get into using Nvidia 3 vision but I've been unable to get a monitor that can do 120Hz or better to work with my 2014 EON 17SLX laptop with SLI GTX 880M video cards and its Thunderbolt port. I've tried connection 4 different gaming monitors on it (3x Dell S2716DG and 1 ASUS P279Q) and all of there mostly freezes up my laptop and give the "No signal detected from DisplayPort" error when I connect them to my laptop's Thunderbolt Port. During the few times that laptop doesn't freeze and is able to see detect the connected monitor, the monitor itself will still show the save no signal error regardless of which frequency or resolution that I set the monitor to from the nVidia control panel. The monitors do work if I connect them via a HDMI cable but that only gets me 60Hz frequency which doesn't work for 3d nVidia vision. I've tested my thunderbolt port/mDP to DisplayPort cable with another 60 Hz Dell u2412m and it works without a hitch. I've tested the same cable and Dell S2716DG on a friend's MacBook Pro and it's able to see the monitor and the monitor was able to use the 120Hz frequency at 2560x1440 resolution. So, the cables does work and so does the monitor but just NOT for my Laptop. I've tried downgrading my video drivers to their original and to the latest drivers but none of it had any affect on the problem. I've tried disabling G-SYNC from the nVidia Control Panel. I tried disabling the SLI. I've also tried setting my main display to a secondary display before connecting the 120Hz + monitors to the laptop. But nothing worked. I've talked with Dell, NVida, and OriginPC but didn't get any resolution. Has anyone gotten their 880M video card to work with the Dell S2716DG, ASUS P279Q, or any 120Hz+ monitor? I'm curious if this problem is unique to me only or I'm doing something wrong with my settings.
  10. If you haven't updated your alienware m18x r2 with a SSD drive, the you may consider shrinking your SATA drive to less than 500GB and clone a https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OBRE5UE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1 to replace it instead. With a cloned drive, you don't have to reinstalled and programs or redo your passwords and setup. And when restarting, the laptop will booting up within 15-30 seconds and your programs will load and run a lot faster than if you just upgrade the RAM.
