  1. I don't have a issue with mine or Sv7's vbios when using either HDMI or VGA strange that you are having a monitor not detecting right on DSUB (VGA)
  2. It was a Video Message but it stated error on it. Something to do with AMI UEFI hence why i did the MSI Stock Vbios and then modded that.
  3. No Problem it was the one i used as using Slv7's was causing a issue when booting. Some error code before posting so using a stock on and then copied his settings to Overclock.
  4. Just done a 3D mark 11 on laptop after i did a Clean install of OS Drivers etc. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2670QM Processor,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-16F2 Not sure if this is a good score or not. What is the max overclock on the GTX770M unless its the CPU bottlenecking which if it is i think its time for a i7 2820QM or a i7 2920XM.

  6. So far for me I am using MX-4 and that us working great u did try IC diamond but that only scratched my could die in removing it. I am looking for something better. Tg-2 used to be good as well but I can no longer get hold of it NH-1 was like TG-1 but I can't even get that anymore any ideas on best paste bow a days? Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  7. Yes its a socket meter but i have decided to ignore it as the system is running now happily. BF4 Ultra @ 1080p with the last 4 settings OFF running 58-60fps locked . The GTX770M is unlocked for max boost and power draw as well. Its a big difference in playing compared to a GTX560M for sure as the temps on CPU and GPU have now settled and both do not go above 70 and thats with the i7 2670qm boosting at its full turbo boost for all 4 cores. The only thing that has been changed is now BIOS and EC firmware with a custom fan map profile thanks to svet.
  8. Personally if you can wait till the release of the GTX880M i would wait but if not a GTX780M will be a good upgrade. I personally went for a Clevo card as they are really compatible with almost all laptops and can be flashed with a MSI vBios to enable the drivers to be installed. Although the GTX880M by looks of leaked Info is the same in everything from the GTX680M GTX780M apart from higher clocks the choice is really upto you, it all depends if you want a new GPU now or can wait till the launch of the GTX880M
  9. 76/77C on a Full load is not bad, Just remember our 5xx Series would of been at 96c + and ready to cook eggs! I used to have the Unlocked Bios from here but i got a stock vBios flashed that and Unlocked the stock one as i was getting a wierd UEFI message before the system even posted and now i don't. Glad your running the dream mate. I play crysis series as well and the card does really well. All i have to do is get a better CPU in the XM range.
  10. I use Between 24T and 25T i stay at the same temps as you on both. The only Difference on my GPU is now its a GTX770M and not a GTX560M. Other then that you might stay under 80c with 26T but don't go trying 27T 28T 30T or 31T as it will just get too hot as you have found out. With you setting a 31T you some how managed to force all cores to 3.1GHZ which is infact a Overclock as 3.1GHZ is ment for 1 core, 2 Cores its 3.0GHZ, 3 Cores 2.9GHZ and 4 Cores 2.8GHZ. Glad though you sorted your issue. If your going for a Upgrade on MXM, i am very happy with the perfomance of the GTX770M and that is Max Boosted with no power limit. I have a link of where i got it and the same link is on the forums too. As you have a GTX570M you only need the GPU as the heatsink is the same. Max temp for me on GTX770M full load is 70c most times its as low as 59c to 65c on load. The 70c is the max temp i have recorded on the GTX770M so far.
  11. What have you set the ThrottleStop settings to?
  12. I can't flash and all the tools be it dos or windows all error out with. Intel ® Flash Programming Tool. Version: 7.1.20.1119 Copyright © 2007-2011, Intel Corporation. All rights reserved. Platform: Intel® HM67 Express Chipset Revision: Unknown Reading HSFSTS register... Flash Descriptor: Valid --- Flash Devices Found --- Doesn't matter if i use the Unlockers either same thing. I can't even flash to it. So it looks like its lock down tight how ever i have noticed that the 4MB bios file has the ME firmware in it so here is the .xml file of that with a .30R bios MS-16F2ME.zip So hopefully this will help ya out on the MS-16F2
  13. I have managed to get hold of Intel ME7 1.5MB FWUpdate v7.1.60.1193 6 Series Intel ME8 1.5MB FWUpdate v8.1.51.1471 7 Series which are consumer firmwares. Also i managed to get some info on my MS-16F2's ME firmware G:\ME>MEInfoWin.exe Intel® MEInfo Version: 7.1.52.1180 Copyright© 2005 - 2011, Intel Corporation. All rights reserved. 14. For starters do not use Furmark its known to bring even the most powerfull of GPU's to its death a simple 3DMark or even Kombustor would be better.. Best bet is to dump your vBios and give svl7 a shout with modding the vbios to the power spec you need. But if you have had an electrical surge and it killed the GPU have you made sure it hasn't damaged anything else although a part might not look damaged it doesn't mean it isn't. Also to save yourself from another electrical surge get a surge protector. Also you have double posted as well mate. Might want to ask a moderator to remove one.
  15. My temps on my i7 2670QM never goes higher then 75c on a 5 hour gaming session with Throttlestop on setting for 2.2GHZ. I had the CPU throttle issue when playing some games as the CPU was boosting to 3.0GHZ then throwing the clocks down again as the CPU was getting hot around the 89-94c. So now i use Throttlestop set at just 2.2GHZ all the time with no issues with throttling and if i need a bit more power i manually set it to 24T but never any further. You can try to repaste the CPU but the test test is to use throttlestop first to see if this fixes the issue if it does then its down to Intel Turbo Boost and then you just find the sweet spot where temps is low enough at a set clock speed after you repasted the CPU with new thermal compound.
  16. I have used Shims in the good old days of the AMD Spitfire, when Overclocking was at the beginning in my life. never liked them to be honest. I main reason its loose unless you thermal paste it twice or you can go too far when bolting down the heat sink and crush what ever is underneath it. Whilst with brasso you can get the same shine and its a cutter too so it helps to even the copper plate over time with its inperfections, I have always used this method. All you do is clean the Thermal greese off the Heatsink then with a non-static cloth apply a small bit of Brasso on the cloth, then work it in till all the dirt comes off (Turns Black) then clean the dirt of and Buff. Just make sure after you buff you re-clean with tim to insure there is no particals left from the brasso apply thermal paste like normal and enjoy watching the shiny copper getting dirty again but with a cleaner contact. As for PSU i originally had with my system the 150Watt PSU i then upgraded as i tried to get a AMD 7970M MXM card to work but fail'd due to lack of working cards then bought a 180 Watt ready for the next AMD card but then decided after all the hassle to use the GTX770M which now i love how fast it is. Even with the stock vBios its still boosting to 862 on the GPU LOL. Also my ears are now saved as the fans do not go leafblower so fast.
  17. @Suoah i think i spoke to soon it hovers on temps a 70c max now but i have a weird issue now my 180watt PSU is dumping wattage left right and center. One minute its at 110-140watts playing Battlefield and then it drops to as low as 3watts then goes back to 90 watts, then after that back to 110-140 watts only to dump again a few moments later. Yet GPU-Z is not reporting any issues and MSI after burner is not showing dips in usage to explain the dips in the wattage. So i am back on the stock MSI vBios on 150 watt PSU. Any ideas on why a PSU would dump wattage so dramatically?
  18. Hope you get the issue fixed mate. The GTX770M is nice mate, only now i am having issues with my PSU which is a 180watt dumping its Wattage when underload. If your still in warranty go for it as the day after warrenty expires you will get two fingers trust me on that on had the same issue with the company that i got my barebones from. Basically i use the Brasso to clean all the crap of the Copper and make the Copper very shiny, (its better then using grit paper) then i clean with TIM before putting it back on the GPU. Brasso is a pretty handy. 4 weeks without laptop to get it fixed is better then having to sort the issue yourself.
  19. That my friend is normal even in my Event Log i get many of them. I am trying to findout how to cap the temps now via chat screen on mainpage as that might help you. I am using MSI afterbuner on my new GTX770M there is a setting on there about temps. But for the GPU to be getting that high something is not right. Are the fans working mate ? i.e are the leaf blowers working? Best bet is to talk to @svl7 to see if he can do something about the Temp issue via a Vbios update. 90c is not healthy on a GPU i try to be max 80c at best. But with my new 770M i am only hitting 66-70c's when gaming and shadow playing at the same time on my NB. Only other thing i can say is repaste with new greese making sure on a gain size pea is applied and see if that helps. I use MX-4 as IC-Diamond scratches the hell out of the CPU or GPU dies. I also use Brasso on the Heatsink to lap it and clean that off with TIM cleaner as well.
  20. The EC update from MSI did something i know to stop the throttling not sure if it was down to removing the power limit though. You are correct power is pulled and not pushed. Has this only started since updating the EC firmware. The GTX680M is a 100watt card from what i read. But reading on other sites the total power draw of the whole laptop was 179watts on a full load. Have your tried throttlestop and enabling that to see if it will calm down the power draw.
  21. Good news. GTX770M in stock bios dumped and MSI OC bios flashed all working lovely from here thanks for your reply guys! One big thanks must be to @svl7 for the epic MSI OC vbios. BF4 on ultra 1080p all max settings 60-80fps and 65c max load temp so far! Only one differnce is i am on 30R Bios that i have unlocked! now all i need to do is mod the EC firmware with new Fan settings!!!
  22. Depends on which version of windows you have on how to access eventlog so to make it super easy just press the Winkey+R and type eventvwr.exe press enter it will then bring a new window up, on that new window click Windows Log then Application. Then Under Action click filter current log and Select Critical Warning and Error check boxes then click OK. Then look for anything to do with Nvidia or the game. Once you have found something click on that item in the log and it will then give you some details underneath then just copy and paste it hear. But with that what you just said, I would find another PSU as it sounding to be the PSU (Brick) rather then the drivers. If you have a low Wattage PSU see if you can get a higher one for example i had a 150watt psu and i bought a 180watt PSU and everything runs better for it.
  23. Install ThrottleStop and set it so that CPU doesn't boost and your then good to go.
  24. This could be down to the Nvidia Drivers crashing out. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the GPU drivers i had same issue with BF4 which was the same error did a uninstall of the GPU drivers and reinstalled them and have been working great since. Ea Help are muppets they blame everything on the users end and never say its because of there software. Also have a look at the event log that might give you more information. Forgot to add is your GPU overclocked if it is try knocking the overclock back slightly! Another Edit, Some else on the EA forum has same issue and fixed it just by turning off AA..
