  1. I got 105.3 MHz on BCLK (adds around 100ish MHz on processor clock) and OC the GPU (by flashing vbios) core 800 mem 1800 0.90v
  2. What type is your laptop? I have a MS1761 and the placement looks similar except that weird connector. In MS1761, you got some kind of thin connector for keyboard backlit
  3. This confused me :| I'll search again in other forum then. thanks bro update : the flashing works just fine. added /x parameter @ AFUDOS /p /b /n command. Right after flasing, had to change the SATA mode to AHCI (exactly as in the tutorial) the soundcard need to be reinstalled though :D
  4. bumping my old question Did you get "rom file romid is not compatible with existing bios romid" error while flashing? Or did you add /x parameter? whoa this is good news. Can't wait to flash unlocked bios to my MS 1761.
  5. I think I need some help guys. I have an MS 1761, but when flashing (after I type update.bat), I got error " rom file romid is not compatible with existing bios romid" after some Googling, I found some suggestion to add /x parameter to bypass ROMID check. Is that true? (or in other way, IS IT SAFE?) I'm sure already downloaded the right BIOS Thanks in advance *beer*
  6. We have the same card. My current settings also 0.90v but with 825 core and 1800 memory. But I've seen other guy @ NBR forum with 0.90v, 840ish core and 1900 memory
  7. It's like choosing one from your 2 favourite meals I have experience with both manufactures, and none of them I regret. And yes of course nVidia has better driver. But now I'm seeing AMD catching up pretty fast. As in nVidia 3D, I'm not using this feature ever (until now), thus no plus in this feature (for me) AMD cards tends to run a little bit hotter. But then when it comes to C/P ratio.. ooh la la AMD clearly wins my wallet LOL Currently using nVidia one (570M) and looking forward to AMD (7970M) beause of it's C/P ratio $-)
  8. You could try resetting the BIOS by unplugging the CMOS Battery wire and leave it for a couple of minutes (the red and white twisted cable near the fan) Of course you need to open the bottom cover first Hope that one works.
  9. LOL. I almost did the same thing Xonar. Because I tried several cooler (CM U3, Notepal Ergostand and even a custom cooler I made myself) and barely made any difference. The only thing I'm looking forward is applying copper shims mod. I found a local workshop known for their specialty on copper shim mods on laptop. I'll post a thread as soon as I do the mods.
  10. I've read a guy's comment in different forum saying you wouldn't get the benefit of 1600MHz RAM on 2630QM. Is that true? Is it still possible to get the benefit of 1600MHz RAM in 2630QM? **I'm currently using 2630QM and not planning on upgrade because AFAIK it's better upgrading the GPU than CPU. (I've been planning to upgrade my MS1761 GPU from GTX570M to 7970M rather than 2630QM to 2760QM etc)

    Li-ion battery

seems to be out of topic, but how is your battery performance on Win 8? I'm currently using MS 1761 and Windows 8 Pro. I got 3 hours or so in Power Saver Mode. But when I was using Windows 7 (Ultimate SP1), I'm getting 5 hours on Power Saver Mode. A lot articles in many forum or website, said that Windows 8 has better battery life performace :/ Just curious
