  1. Sup horow, just seen your message. Yeah, I can provide you with a programmed bios chip, then you would have to do some soldering. Or you can send me your card for repairing.
  2. Again, GPU-Z doesn't report a single bit of truth when it comes to the fan behavior of mobile GPUs. Use HWiNFO for that, at least in case of your M17x R3. Also, I still want that vbios.
  3. GPU-Z doesn't display correct fan readings for notebooks. Can I get a copy of your vbios?
  4. This should work fine, as far as I know flashing shouldn't be an issue with that system. In case I'm mistaken someone please correct me. Clevo 7970m - 015.024.000.001.043596.BR43596.001 - P1x0EM.rom.zip
  5. I can send it to you later, but why would you need the stock version?
  6. Yes, if you clean it off then you need to careful. A good idea is to use enough isopropyl alcohol or similar.
  7. True, with mobile gaming still happening at 1080p it isn't of much use, at least I can't really think of any situation that would really benefit from 8GB vs 4GB. Not sure what the Clevo or Dell card will use when it comes to the GDDR5 modules, but this MSI card had some great chips on it, overclocked like a king, so that is a positive aspect, at least for a bencher
  8. Indeed, cause it's exactly the same GPU. Just a bit more graphics memory on the board.
  9. That's odd, especially because you see the AW logo. Did you uninstall the old AMD driver before installing the 7970m? Do you know which vbios version is on your card?
  10. You can flash the vbios per nvflash from within windows or per USB drive from DOS. Or you use the Dell iso and make a bootable USB stick with rufus. I guess at least one of your USB ports is working
  11. You can get a 460m or 5850m from Dell, that's it. You most likely have to pay for it, I doubt they'll upgrade you for free. Since Dell asks a rather high fee for this you're better of doing it yourself. MXM cards - check the forum marketplace or ebay.
  12. Cleaned up the thread. Refer to post #1 for specific thread rules. Will try to catch up on the requests.
  13. I think it's the same story as with the P150HM... will only work if it comes with the proper vbios version already flashed.
  14. Very nteresting. Did you compare all the timings? Secondary and tertiary timings might not be set that well...
  15. More volts, already posted how to do that some years ago, see here: http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/868-pushing-i7-920xm-new-levels-increasing-cpu-core-voltage.html And yes, on all cores.
  16. Still kickin'... and harder than ever before Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-920XM Processor,Alienware
  17. Will check the UEFI Vars when I get a chance. Still in the mountains, Can you run my prr utility and let me know what it says?
  18. Both are blue, Dell are dark blue and the Clevo a bright blue. At least OEM cards. Dell ES cards were black. @Amok: Try an earlier driver, e.g. 13.x
  19. I don't think that will work, especially due to the internal laptop screen, but there's only one way to find out.
